FEMA revises Brown's bio after exaggeration charges
http://today.reuters.com/investing/financeArticle.aspx?type=bondsNews&storyID=2005-09-12T183946Z_01_N12488403_RTRIDST_0_KATRINA-BROWN.XML

WASHINGTON, Sept 12 (Reuters) - The Federal Emergency Management Agency has quietly revised the official biography of its embattled director, Michael Brown, to correct an error about his background in local government following allegations he exaggerated his disaster relief experience.

Already under fire for a slow response to Hurricane Katrina, Brown was pulled out of the Gulf Coast operations on Friday and recalled to Washington. President George W. Bush is under pressure from Democrats to fire him.

Brown's biography on FEMA's Web site, www.fema.gov, was updated at just after 5 p.m. on Sunday to revise his title while working in local government in Edmond, Oklahoma, in the 1970s.

One correction was made to make clear that Brown had not served as "an assistant city manager," as had been stated in his biography. The new biography states that Brown served as "an assistant to the city manager."

FEMA also revised Brown's role in emergency planning at the time.

Since his "revised" biography makes it clear that he has absolutely no freakin' business being the "head" of FEMA, when does he get "fired"?

WASHINGTON, Sept 12 (Reuters) - The embattled director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Michael Brown, is resigning, The Wall Street Journal reported on Monday on its Web site citing people familiar with the matter.

that was the article in total - allowed this pig to resign is an affront to all the dead in NO and an insult to those that lived in spite of his incompetence.

excerpt:

Accusations also arose last week that Brown had exaggerated his background in disaster relief in his official biography and resume.

Accusations??????

The truth about this slimeball's lack of credentials "surfaced" in spite of the frequent lying and spinning that comes out of the mouth of Scotty McClelland - brother to the head of the FDA (oh no! more in-freakin'-competents mismanaging our government!)

6. I hope Congress finally does
it’s job from now on and looks into these appointees backgrounds and not just rubber stamp them and criticizes as “politicizing the process” anyone who questions them. The consequences are too great.

10. Ya know, most of us couldn't get hired
at the local Applebees without a drug test and a thorough background check. Yet, after 9-11, this guy with the puffed up resume gets to be head of FEMA. And Jeff "Gannon" Guckert, the fake journalist, fake Marine, but actual male prostitute gets much coveted press credentials...while old time Washington journalists have to wait months for "security clearance".
Our country's future is too important to leave to these thugs.

11. But, according to all the NeoCon blogs and rags
This was one of the most successful relief efforts ever mounted by the US (once the local Democrats got out of the way). Is someone lying?
