WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- Customers of San Diego Gas & Electric will receive roughly $50 million in refunds stemming from settlements the utility negotiated earlier this year with companies accused of manipulating California's energy markets in 2000 and 2001. The California Public Utilities Commission approved the refunds on Thursday, SDG&E, a regulated subsidiary of Sempra Energy (SRE) , said in a statement. The refunds will show up as a savings on customer bills between Oct. 1, 2005, and Sept. 30, 2006. A large commercial or industrial customer can expect to see their monthly bill reduced by about $918, while typical residential customers will likely see a savings of 14 cents.

...short blurb...

Wow! Scammed for billions, now the "typical residential customers" will get a HUGE savings of "14 cents"!

2. I'll split my 14 cents with you
I watched my electric bill go from about 50 bucks a month to over 300. So this is only slightly better than a sharp stick in the eye.

3. I guess I shouldn't whine
Mine went from about $20 to nearly $100 and I wasn't even there (I had everything on pilot or turned off as I was in Virginia with my dying mom.)
