Jeb Bush Comes to Canada, Promotes Travel
Jeb Bush Comes to Canada, Promotes Travel
The Associated Press
Published: Jul 7, 2003

TORONTO (AP) - A Bush visited Canada on Monday, but it wasn't the one everybody has been waiting for.
Florida Gov. Jeb Bush spent the day in Toronto promoting travel to his home state and talking up close ties between the North American neighbors despite strains between his brother and Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien.

President George W. Bush postponed a planned trip to Canada in May, with little chance he will reschedule before Chretien steps down in February. The men have been at odds over the war in Iraq, which Chretien refused to support, and economic and trade issues.

Jeb Bush, a Republican like his brother, avoided discussing the friction Monday, instead emphasizing the close ties between the countries and the importance of Canadian visitors to Florida.

1. Please, please keep him up there
We don't want him back in FL anymore. Can't the Canadians hold him on some charge or another? How about impersonating a human being?

3. Nobody's waiting for his brother either
That's just newspaper filler...2 out of 3 Canadians hate Dubya Bush.

Jeb just discovered that pissing off the neighbors costs Florida money.

7. Canadians should boycott Florida
Florida still has the sodomy laws in its books (though they are ineffective now)...and its the only state in USA which bans adoption by gays and lesbians.

Canadians should spend their money in countries / states with a better record of human rights.

8. Why would any Canadian want to go to Florida, with Cuba so close?
Canadians are free to travel to Cuba, unlike US citizens who are imprisoned behind the Neocon curtain.

Jeb Bush would have more luck inticing the captive US citizens to spend their money in Flordia. Canadians with their freedom to travel, will probably continue to avoid trips to bannana-Republican states such as Texas or Florida.

10. Guess Jebby's going to need all the "devious" methods...
He can muster to entice Canadians to take HIS word for it and visit Florida...Hey, Canadian DUers, can you imagine ANY friend or neighbor of yours being persuaded by Jeb Bush to visit Florida? :eyes:

Florida's Tourism Board ought to seriously contemplate sending someone--ANYONE--else on their next Canadian junket!

B-)
