Leak Halts Iraq Oil Flow to Turkey
Efforts to resume vital oil exports from northern Iraq halted for weeks by sabotage stumbled once more Saturday when the main pipeline to Turkey sprang a leak, Turkish officials said.

Elsewhere, U.S. troops and Iraqi police arrested 11 people, three of them women, who were suspected of links to attacks against U.S. soldiers, witnesses said.

1. Peculiar isn't it...?
How the only oil that gets anywhere is either through Kuwait or the planned Mosul-Haifa line... :eyes:

3. I'm beginning to wonder who really benefits from Iraqi oil NOT
available to the world market....I was of the opinion that Iraqi's and/or Islamic fundies were the perps...but couldn't it just as likely be to the benefit of the major oil companies? Keeping the world's 2nd largest oil reserves in the ground and out of the markey keeps the price of oil high, does it not?

4. Get that thing fixed!
The opposition/guerillas/terrorists/loyalists/unemployed have been waiting a long time to take another crack at it. The original estimate was that it would take two weeks to repair. My money is paying to fix that pipeline and I will continue to pay when it gets blown up again.
