Osama warns of new attacks in US and against foreign forces in Iraq

DOHA : Al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden threatened to send suicide bombers to the US and to attack any forces joining the US-led coalition in Iraq, according to Qatar's Al-Jazeera television.

"We will go on fighting you and we will carry on martyrdom (suicide) operations in and outside the United States until you stop being unjust," he warned in an audiotaped "message to the American people" attributed to the Saudi dissident by the Doha station.

"We reserve the right to retaliate at the proper time and place against all countries that take part in this unjust war (against Iraq), namely Britain, Spain, Australia, Poland, Japan and Italy," announced the taped voice said to be the mastermind of the September 11, 2001 suicide hijackings in New York and Washington.

"Islamic countries that take part will not be excluded. This applies particularly to the Gulf states, chiefly Kuwait, (which served as) launchpad for the crusader forces."

Thanks, Dubya. Ya think that if you spent the same effort of getting Osama Been Forgotten as you put into fulfilling PNAC prophecy, there might not be the additional few thousand American casualties and ten thousand Iraqi civilians?

Ya think that maybe the rest of the world wouldn't see the US as an agressive giant that's out of control? ya think that every fucking terrorist in the world now has our number and can't wait to call?

Dubya, you stupid shit.

1. Osama, or * fear tactics?
I always have to wonder. Polls dropping - time for code orange.

3. I don't think * is that influential with Al-Jazeera (yet).
And w/Bin Laden, it's hard to tell if it's rhetoric or what. IMHO, the likelyhood of Al Quaida aggression is far more likely overseas than it is here. But, I've been wrong too many times to count.

6. I doubt that Al Jazeera is on the BFEE payroll also
The question for me is whether they can be fooled.

7. IMHO, it would be easier for Al Qaeda to fool the Western press than
Al-Jazeera.

However, the spin from Al-Jazeera might be more than biased considering our killing of their employees at various times during the invasion.

4. "We got him on the run."
Yeah, sure you do, on the run to STILL run al Qaeda and give orders and appear on Al Jazeera (sp?). :wtf:

I get the sense that most DUers don't think that if we are attacked again that * will be seen as Mr. Wonderful like 9/11. I don't believe this to be true. I think that if we are attacked, that people are going to turn on him. "Why didn't you get him, *? Why did you go into Iraq before Afghanistan was truly stabilized.

*'s credibility is shot.

5. God forbid that there should be an attack, but it would seal his fate
if it was Bin Laden...

But, with Bush's ties to the Bin Laden family, I'm pretty sure they won't allow Osama to do anything like that.

11. Message of the day
In the AP version ... :

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=535&e=1&u=/ap/20031019/ap_on_re_mi_ea/bin_laden_tape

... Scotty McMealymouth sez:

"It is a reminder that the global war on terror continues," said McClellan, with Bush in Bangkok, Thailand, at an economic summit. "Terrorists are enemies of the civilized world who seek to spread fear and chaos and they have no regard for innocent life."

So Usama's on message apparently. Part of the team! Like he had a cabinet post, Secretary of Timely, Distracting Spookiness.

12. His payoff must be overdue....
It must be time for Bushco/Carlyle/House of Saud to make a payment to keep him quiet. Nothing personal you know, just business.

Now go ahead and call me a cynic.

13. Okay, you a cynic. And welcome to DU!
The OBL/Bush connection is something I don't know for sure, but when I consider all the aspects of Bush and his family businesses, it does seem as if it could be a possibility. A horrendous possibility.
