High ranking Lt. Gen in charge of fighting terrorism- "Satan is our enemy"
http://www.msnbc.com/news/980764.asp?0cv=CB10

.....

This summer, Boykin was promoted to deputy undersecretary of defense, with a new mission for which many say he is uniquely qualified: to aggressively combine intelligence with special operations and hunt down so-called high-value terrorist targets including bin Laden and Saddam.

But that new assignment may be complicated by controversial views Boykin — an evangelical Christian — has expressed in dozens of speeches at churches and prayer breakfasts around the country. In a half-dozen video and audiotapes obtained by NBC News, Boykin says America’s true enemy is not bin Laden.

In June 2003, Boykin spoke to a church group over a slide show:

“Well, is he the enemy? Next slide. Or is this man the enemy? The enemy is none of these people I have showed you here. The enemy is a spiritual enemy. He’s called the principality of darkness. The enemy is a guy called Satan.”

....

oh man, why can't they all just disappear and let us get on with really trying to fix this nation and fight terrorism

35. no. they believe they have God on their side. that's insidious
because with one's god on your side you are capable of anything. the confrontation moves from a secular disagreement to a conflict of cosmic proportions.

any who oppose this are infidels. and oddly enough, that is what we are called by both the al quida because we are americans and now the bush adminstration because we are americans who oppose the war.

7. these people are scary
Goodness, but I'm getting scared about all these evangelicals being put in charge (or influencing policy). How are they supposed to make the practical decisions that must be made in the Middle East when they absolutely, positively believe that (the Bible is telling them) unless Israel basically gets to take as much land as it feels it needs to survive, the Second Coming of Christ won't happen.

CRIPES!

People are free to believe as they choose. But when it threatens the already totally effed-up peace process ... then I have a problem with how they're acting on those beliefs.

8. I imagine my car is a target then.
Boinkin would probably object to my "Bush/Satan '04: Four More Wars" sticker and my Darwin fish.

BTW, today I saw a car on the PA turnpike with a Darwin fish humping one of those "IXOYE" fish. It was interesting to say the least.

Here's the best I could find:
http://www.safe-t-tank.com/What_Does_IXOYE_Mean/what_does_ixoye_mean.html

Edit: Sorry, not "Darwin" humping IXOYE but instead, "evolution". Here it is:

Nevertheless, offensive to some.

27. yep, to me
As a Christian, I think it's offensive. yeech.

But then, I have a Darwin fish AND a Christ fish on my car, and they get along fine together. I also find the one where 'truth' is swallowing 'evolution' to be, if not offensive, then really, really! stupid. I am also not bothered by the other fish--the science fish, the spaceship fish, the Buddist fish, etc. But this one, which basically says "Screw Christ" I think is too much.

22. It's not actually IXOYE.
It's not actually IXOYE; that's just a close approximation.
It's really the Greek letters that spell the Greek word that
we transliterate as "icthus", meaning "fish". That's one of
the symbols for Christ.

16. GOD, not SCOTUS appointed Bush!
Boykin also routinely tells audiences that God, not the voters, chose President Bush: “Why is this man in the White House? The majority of Americans did not vote for him. Why is he there? And I tell you this morning that he’s in the White House because God put him there for a time such as this.”

Oh, lordy ...

17. Boinkin obviously writes letters to the editor in my local paper.
I swear there is a "Bush is Jesus" letter about once a week. Don't these hypocrites realize that they've turned off far more people from religion than they have turned on? I have some friends who were once "moderate" Christians that have reconsidered some of their beliefs because of this shit. I'm not joking. These are people who supposedly found Jesus to cure their addictions but are now questioning it now that they see wackjobs like this spewing conspiracy theories. Of course, my influence doesn't help them! So much for "faith based initiatives".

http://www.iraqwar.org/Armageddonupdates.htm
Theres a guy in my town who walks all about dressed in a bathrobe and towel on his head carrying a large cross (made of PVC pipe and balsa wood)..his project : Jesus
My husband, who is a photographer, of course had to get a pic, but was evangelized to as he snapped away (the price to pay)..
Come to find out the guy is a minister at a local church right down the road, with a large 10 foot by 5 foot sign JESUS IS COMING!! in front...and he assures my husband its the end times..
end times=someone has read wayyyyyyyy too many Tim LaHaye books from Wal Mart.
sadly, these whackjobs are in the top echelons of US policy making and comprise much of the Bushybase.

39. oh my god
I read the MSNBC link with the dude's quotes. Holy moly. When he talks about the (Islamic) lieutenant in Mogadishu:

“ ... And then he went on CNN and he laughed at us, and he said, ‘They’ll never get me because Allah will protect me. Allah will protect me.’
“Well, you know what I knew that my God was bigger than his. I knew that my God was a real God, and his was an idol. But I prayed, Lord let us get that man.
“Three days later we went after him again, and this time we got him ..."

MY GOD IS BIGGER THAN HIS? HIS WAS AN IDOL? And they put this guy in a position of power? When he talks like that in public? Duck and cover, people ... if this doesn't bring on another terrorist attack, nothing will.

40. Do you think this man would hesitate if his Godly Emperor*
ordered him to "round up the Godless and the Heathens" in FEMA Concentration Camps?

Do you think he would give a thought to the now-nearly-defunct Constitution and Bill of Rights?

No. He would follow his Divine Appointed Emperor*.

Who, it just so happens, is the primary candidate for AntiChrist so far in the 21st Century.

Bush * is too STOOPID to be the Antichrist. I thought the Antichrist is supposed to come across as an irresistable, well-spoken critter, who has a lot on the ball. * is little more than a puppet with power.

But now that I read the description of the Beast in Revelations, Georgie Boy could fit the bill. Good news ... Revelations says he'll be in control for 42 months. That's 3.5 years. So, if the end of the world is coming because of him, it'll come before he can have a second term. Thank God for small favors.
