Mississippi GOP launches anti-Musgrove Web site
EMILY WAGSTER PETTUS
Associated Press

JACKSON, Miss. - A new Web site by the Mississippi Republican Party superimposes Democratic Gov. Ronnie Musgrove's grinning face onto actor Jim Carrey's body on the "Liar, Liar" movie poster.

The site - www.ronniemustgo.com - uses many of the same quotes and statistics that GOP gubernatorial nominee Haley Barbour uses in his campaign material, criticizing Musgrove on job losses and college tuition increases.

Musgrove said Monday he had not seen the site. The governor's campaign manager, Lisa McMurray, said it "reeks of desperation and Haley should be ashamed of himself."

Musgrove said: "Haley Barbour is running the most expensive, negative campaign in the history of the state of Mississippi. It's evident by his mail outs. It's evident by what he has said from February of this year. He's running for governor by running down Mississippi, our people, our schools, our children." (snip/...)

1. I would like to know who hasn't suffered job losses
If a Republican was in office, the tuition increases would be even worse since they do everything they can do to put the burden on the middle and lower class.

2. Barbour is biting his own ass...
Mississippians don't like this kind of negativity...especially when it is Barbour who is lying.

God help us if he is elected.

5. I hope people see through this
Mitch Tyner, Barbour's primary opponent, had it right. The Barbour campaign is being run out of Washington D.C. Hopefully, the people of Mississippi will see through this and give MISSISSIPPI's Ronnie Musgrove another term.
