Powell Promises Weekend Push for Iraq Resolution
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Secretary of State Colin Powell on Friday promised a final push to secure a new U.N. resolution on post-war arrangements in Iraq and said it could be clear by Monday whether a resolution was in reach.

The United States wants a new resolution as a way to persuade other governments to contribute more troops and money to help it run and rebuild the occupied country.

But the Bush administration is reluctant to cede authority rapidly to Iraqi politicians or the United Nations as the price to pay for support in the U.N. Security Council.

The United States floated a new resolution weeks ago and has been in complex negotiations ever since.

1. We are apparently seeing the repercussion of the lies Powell told
to the world body - the difficulty in even forging a resolution that is acceptable to UN bureaucrats. He should be making his new push as "US Secreatary of State-Lies" since most nations hardly give credence to his assurances. I detest this lying hero!

2. Over the weekend, eh?
That lovely period of time when you can attempt something, have it fail and be sure that the sheeple won't notice because they'll all be watching rasslin'?

3. A Hero ain't nothin' but a sandwich!!
......and to think folks were talking a few years ago of Powell running for the presidency.

Now he's begging without an ounce of creditability. 'Just love Colin's facial expressions now a days, 'eh?

4. I guess the misadministration just doesn't get it....
They tried (in vain) to make a mockery of the United Nations. As it turns out, the UN was right all along. There was not enough evidence to go to war. The rest of the world knows what this misadministration did and I applaud them for saying, "you started this unilateral action, you can unilaterally get yourselves out" Franch, Germany and Russia appear to be the smart ones, they didn't buy what Bushco. was selling. FRENCH fries anyone?
