Bush to Stay at G-8 Meeting in Scotland After London Explosions
July 7 (Bloomberg) -- President George W. Bush has no plans to cut short his stay at a summit of the Group of Eight industrial countries in Scotland after terrorists set off bombs across the London transportation system, White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan said.

``The G-8 meeting is continuing and he is keeping it on his schedule,'' McClellan told reporters traveling with Bush.

The meeting at the Gleneagles golf resort was briefly suspended after reports of the explosions reached the leaders. After that, Bush held a 10-minute conference call with U.S. intelligence advisers and domestic security officials ``to make sure that all appropriation agencies were responding'' and ``acting in taking any necessary precautions'' in the U.S., he said.

Bush is scheduled to return tomorrow to Washington from Gleneagles. He and Blair had been giving a press conference at the Scottish golf resort just before the explosions were reported.

6. Why would anyone think he would leave?
:eyes: Must have been a report to pump up his fearless image. The "G-8" of course would go on...none of the leaders except Blair would need to leave.

Edited on Thu Jul-07-05 08:52 AM by leftchick
they are even reporting about beside blair. It is sickening the attention paid to his where abouts when another country is attacked.
Even the press still is making it all about bush.

8. Cut him some slack.
He's probably in the middle of reading a book about goats. If we distract him, he might lose his place.

13. There is plenty of security there anyway.
That site is probably as well guarded as anyplace in the world now. The trick might be getting him to leave.
