Transition Team Includes Democrats
California's governor-elect Arnold Schwarzenegger today named his transition team, listing personalities as diverse as former Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan and San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown.

Schwarzenegger announced the team at a Santa Monica press conference as he stood next to Rep. David Dreier, who will head the transition.

The governor-elect said he wanted the "smartest people in the state" to help him begin his work in the capital — no matter what their party affiliation or political views.
...
Additionally, Schwarzenegger said businessman Bill Simon Jr., a staunch Republican, and professor Susan Estrich, a Democrat, will join the congressman and mayors.

Donna Arduin, the director of the Office of Policy and Budget in Florida under Gov. Jeb Bush, will head the audit of the state's spending that Schwarzenegger referenced often during his candidacy.

3. The Dems need to work with Arnold. . .
. . .I was as against this recall as one could be. But the people of California need people like Willie Brown and Susan Estrich to be part of the transition. We cannot bite our nose off to spite our face.
