Bush Drug Czar: Test For Drugs In Schools
BOSTON (AP) -- President Bush's drug czar told New England governors Wednesday that drug testing in schools would be an effective way to combat a growing problem of drug use among young people, but area school officials caution there are problems with it.
The region's six governors and John Walters, director of the Office of Drug Control Policy, met at Faneuil Hall in an anti-drug summit focusing on New England's heroin epidemic.

New England has more people ages 12 and over dependent on illegal drugs than any other region of the nation, according to Walters.

Heroin as cheap as $4 per bag has made it easier for young people to get hooked, he said.

"This is a tool that will make a difference," Walters said of drug testing of school children. "It's time has come."

10. Homeschool - (almost) the only way to fly
I so strongly believe in homeschooling - for many reasons. Luckily, I currently live in a school district that works with its homeschoolers, so whenever any children I might have are ready for it, there won't be any hiding. Plus, the district gets its funding, since the child is counted as being a student in the district. Win-win.

to test if you are lying. Yeah, this isn't scary at all. In Bush's America you are guilty until proven innocent.

18. Wonder which of Whistle Asses cronies
own a company that is going to be awarded the contract for supplying the testing supplies? This comes at a time when school districts are already desperate for money, and they want to do this? Has he signed away the entire Constitution with one of his famous executive orders?

19. Bingo!
Drug testing is a very lucrative business. The lobbyists for the industry are busily pushing for mandatory testing for students. Multiply the number of students in this country times the $50.00 or so (it varies) they charge for each drug testing kit, and you'll see there's a lot of cash to be made 'protecting' our children from drugs.

22. The only thing is...
states can't afford to drug test kids already on probation. How are they going to afford this? Also, who would be the one to choose who gets tested and who doesn't?
