NYT - Cheney Says Detainees Are Well Treated

Mr. Cheney dismissed calls to close the facility, which holds terrorism suspects. "They got a brand new facility down at Guantánamo," Mr. Cheney said in an interview with CNN. "We spent a lot of money to build it. They're very well treated down there."

"They're living in the tropics," he added. "They're well fed. They've got everything they could possibly want. There isn't any other nation in the world that would treat people who were determined to kill Americans the way we're treating these people."

Mr. Cheney categorized the prisoners as "terrorists," "bomb makers" and "facilitators of terror" who would "go back to trying to kill Americans" if freed.

Former President Bill Clinton has become the most prominent critic of the base in Cuba. "It is time that there are no more stories coming out of there about people being abused," Mr. Clinton said in an interview published in Monday's editions of The Financial Times.

Closing Gitmo is just the very beginning. In a way, I'd prefer to keep it open so the GOP leadership can experience its hospitality firsthand after the war crimes tribunals find them guilty. After all, they would be getting everything they could possibly want, right?

Guantánamo since it was his company Halliburton who built it. That man could not tell the truth if he had a gun pointed to his head.

And?!..What the hell does that have to do with anything?

And spending a ton on money on something does not make it something great, just something expensive.

What Mr Cheney seems to miss is that there is a PROBLEM in Guantánamo and like normal, he and the Administration are looking the other way and asking all Americans to do the same..."You see nothing" is the mantra their trying to gets us to believe in, while there being told by others somethings wrong.

If there are "terrorists," "bomb makers" and "facilitators of terror" who would "go back to trying to kill Americans" if freed why are they there and not in a real prison serving there time after a trial?..Whats the hold up?
