Agilent will cut 50 more jobs over next year

About 50 people in Agilent Technologies' automated test group will lose their jobs over the next year.

The cuts, which will occur primarily at the company's Loveland location, are a result of softness in the semiconductor market, said Kelly Parthen, a spokeswoman for the company. The Loveland office employs about 750 people.

The layoff news comes as Northern Colorado residents are grappling with hundreds of high-tech layoffs.

Companies such as HP, Agilent Technologies and Advanced Energy have together announced upward of 300 layoffs in the past year. Toronto-based Celestica Inc. announced earlier this year that it would close its Fort Collins site within a year, putting 800 people out of work.
