Gov. Bush Says Prosecutor Will Investigate Accusation Of Delayed 911 Call For Schaivo

(TALLAHASSEE, Fla.) -- Gov. Jeb Bush said Friday that a prosecutor has agreed to investigate why Terri Schiavo collapsed 15 years ago, citing an alleged time gap between when her husband found her and when he called 911.

Bush said his request for the probe was not meant to suggest wrongdoing by Michael Schiavo.

"It's a significant question that during this ordeal was never brought up," Bush told reporters.

Michael Schiavo's attorney has said his client called for help right away.

20 different ways to Sunday. And the results are always the same: Michael is in no way culpable, and Jeb should just butt the hell out now. The medical tests showed that there was no "there" there in Terri's head. That settles it.

Let the woman rest in peace. Please.

And if the Schindlers jump on this bandwagon -- as I'm sure they will -- they shoe how "love and devotion" toward a deceased loved one can be used as a cudgel in a never-ending family spat. Shame on them if they do.

51. Interesting that her body has been cremated, but not yet put --
in its final resting place. I assume that is with the Schiavo family, not the Schindlers.

However, I wouldn't put it past her family to get that matter into court also. The Schindlers give new meaning to the term "being litigious".

Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary

Just what are they going to investigate? Michael says he alled right away. If they're lucky, they'll still be able to find the 911 call records. If they find them, and the prove the call was made at XX:XX PM, then what? OH, WAIT! A medium somewhere is going to contact Terri and ask her!

18. LORIS CASE HERE

Reopen LORI KLAUSUTIS case.

A Death in the Congressman's Office
Does Anybody in the Press Care About Lori Klausutis?
A young female employee of one of Florida's Congressmen had died unexpectedly in the Congressman's office. There were no witnesses to her death and the cause of death was not apparent. Klausutis' boss, Joe Scarborough had recently resigned from Congress prematurely and unexpectedly, amid rumors about his marital fidelity and soon after a divorce. He had also abruptly resigned as publisher of the Independent Florida Sun, claiming that resigning from Congress and as publisher was necessary to spend more time with his sons.

The results of the mandated autopsy, however, were deemed "inconclusive" by Dr. Michael Berkland
Dr. Michael Berkland, it turns out, has a very interesting background himself. Recently relocated to Florida, it is a matter of public record that Dr. Berkland's medical license in the state of Missouri was revoked in 1998 as a result of Berkland reporting false information regarding brain tissue samples in a 1996 autopsy report. Berkland does not deny the charges.

It's also a matter of public record that he was suspended from his position as Medical Examiner in the State of Florida in July, 1999

Thank God we don't live in FL! Last month my husband had to call 911 when I became extremely ill. I know the call is on record, but what if he was asked what time he found me sick? He'd never remember exactly, even today, much less years from now. Who would remember, especially being shocked to find one's spouse so sick? So Jebbie would prosecute my husband if he had the exact time not right?

Good God, all these Bushies have to go! Not only are they all criminals, they are nuts and tools of the wackos.

...... Bush acknowledged in his letter that an investigation may be difficult.

"I understand that these events took place many years ago, and that you may not be able to collect all the relevant records and physical evidence. However, Mrs. Schiavo's family deserves to know anything that can be done to determine the cause and circumstances of her collapse 15 years ago," Bush wrote. "The unanswered questions may be unanswerable, but the attempt should be made."

37. so who is behind Jeb sending this letter? --I do not get it -how does

this--or what is in for Jeb at this point/

......In a letter faxed to Pinellas-Pasco County State Attorney Bernie McCabe, the governor said Michael Schiavo testified in a 1992 medical malpractice trial that he found his wife collapsed at 5 a.m. on Feb. 25, 1990, and he said in a 2003 television interview that he found her about 4:30 a.m. He called 911 at 5:40 a.m.

"Between 40 and 70 minutes elapsed before the call was made, and I am aware of no explanation for the delay," Bush wrote. "In light of this new information, I urge you to take a fresh look at this case without any preconceptions as to the outcome."

McCabe was out of state Friday and couldn't immediately be reached for comment, but Bush said McCabe has agreed to his request.

Michael Schiavo's attorney, George Felos, did not immediately return a telephone call seeking comment from The Associated Press. But on Wednesday he said his client didn't wait to call for help and has conceded that he confuses dates and times.

44. The GOP plays to its base and ignores the rest of us
The far right wackados are more than a little disappointed with Dr. KittyKiller. When he distanced himself from the whole Schaivo mess ("I never made a diagnosis" - - yeah, whatever JEB!(TM) saw an opening to become the fundies' favorite in 2008. Hence, the malicious prosecution.

As far as JEB!(TM) is concerned, reopening the case is a WIN/WIN. If they find something to lock up Schaivo's husband, he will be the hero of heroes to the wackados. If they find nothing, he can continue to insinuate that she was murdered. On the extremely unlikely chance that they find evidence that totally clears her husband (and what could that be - - a time stamped video tape??), he can either lie that the evidence is bogus, the jury was full of godless Democratic activists and/or that he was simply doing his job, trying to find the truth.

53. WTH? Because there's a time discrepancy from an Emergency situation?
After 2 yrs and then 13 yrs would you remember the exact time when a loved on collapsed of a stroke, had a heart attack, died, etc?

When you're in an emergency/crisis situation do you look at the clock or are all your thoughts on the person you love? 2yrs later would you know for sure the exact time the situation happened.. how about 13 yrs later?

I've lived through a few emergencies during these times my mind has been so focused on the person that I love and getting them the help they need that I'm pretty sure I sure wouldn't note the exact time and even more likely to not recall after 2 yrs.. unless the clocks all mysteriously froze at that moment. ;-) What you are more likely to remember is the time of day.. often in reference to marker of time such as a meal, bedtime, waking up, etc. Also in a crisis time has a way of morphing in our minds, for example you think the ambulance takes "forever" and it fact it's only a few minutes.

I'm not saying I think Michael Schiavo is innocent or guilty, I wasn't there and don't know all the real facts. However starting up an investigation and costing vast amounts of taxpayers dollars only because of this time discrepancy and especially after all this time is just ridiculaous. If you have more and better evidence then that I could probably understand it but it sure looks like it's all about the time MS recalls after a couple years and that is all.

Schindlers' pastor is transferred

The priest whose Pinellas church held a funeral Mass for Terri Schiavo is moving.

By WAVENEY ANN MOORE, Times Staff Writer
Published April 12, 2005

GULFPORT - The priest whose church hosted the funeral Mass for Terri Schiavo is being transferred to another parish. He says the move is a mere coincidence.

The Rev. William J. Swengros, pastor at Most Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, said the change is among the routine transfers regularly made in Catholic dioceses. His new assignment - St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Valrico - becomes effective July 1.

"It was a great surprise and, as always, leaving is very difficult," said Swengros, who announced the news to his parishioners at all weekend Masses.

"Some of the people have made the connection with Schiavo, but it's not that at all."more
