Cornell Student Protest Delays Parking Project
Cornell University is delaying work on a proposed parking lot to determine how to proceed in the wake of student protests over the cutting of trees.

Cornell spokesman Tommy Bruce says the student protest puts people in harm's way at the construction site. So the university is taking a few days to make sure that nobody is hurt.

On Monday, chainsaw crews felled the first handful of trees at the campus site known as Redbud Woods, but work on the parking lot was quickly stalled by protesters.

One protester climbed 25 feet into the branches of a tree, while others took shifts camping on a platform installed in another tree. <snip>
