Santo to have tumors removed
Sports broadcast personality and former Chicago Cub Ron Santo said today he will undergo surgery this week to remove tumors in his bladder.

"The timing on this wasn't the best … but I've got to get it out. I'm going out to Arizona to have it done," Santo told Spike O'Dell during an interview this morning on WGN-AM 720.

1. Oh No!
I'm in Chicago and not a Cub fan, but this is really sad news...especially in light of his recent and lifelong history of health problems.

I heard him interviewed the other day about his losing his legs and how he's dealt with it. This man's tough stuff and my hopes and prayers are with him and his family.

Go White Sox <ducking>

4. I'm with you, IMR...
Die-hard Sox fan here...
It just doesn't seem to ever get better for Santo. You're right, he's tough, and hopefully he'll recover just fine.
(The ONLY reason to cheer the Cubs on would be for Ronnie...nah!)

2. I was wondering why he wasn't at the game last night
They announced he was watching from his home in Chicago, which I thought was strange - I had thought he was in good health and could travel to the game.

Definitely pulling for him...Go Cubbies!
