Strike threat to BBC if no deal is agreed over job cuts
FERGUS SHEPPARD

UNIONS representing thousands of BBC journalists and technicians are to seek urgent talks over planned job cuts and have warned of fresh industrial action if agreement cannot be reached, it was announced last night. <snip>

The National Union of Journalists, BECTU and Amicus warned that they were prepared to launch fresh strikes without the need for another ballot.

The unions called off a 48-hour strike due to start yesterday after a proposed deal was reached during talks at the conciliation service ACAS last week.

A suggested agreement covering the privatisation of some jobs at the Corporation will be put to a ballot of employees. <snip>

1. I support their strike
The BBC is taking incoming fire from all sides with their recent stances. They are a breath of fresh air. I would hate to have another Sky News from the UK.
