March to Protest Taser Gun Death
LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. (AP) -- Two civil rights groups are planned a protest for Friday morning in Lawrenceville on the one-year anniversary of the controversial death of a man police shocked five times in the chest with a Taser stun gun.

Frederick Williams got into an altercation with police after his wife called 911 on May 25 of last year. During the fight, an officer was injured and Williams was taken to the Gwinnett County Jail.

There, Williams -- with restraints on his hands and ankles -- was shocked as six deputies held him down. He lost consciousness after four minutes and died two days later.

3. Did you see that the case the other day (13 yo girl tased in handcuffs)
The police officer who did it was a taser instructor. Training won't keep people from abusing power without community oversight.

6. "valuble tool"
So's a bulldozer, but when somebody gets run over by one it's an international outrage, and rightly so. IF applied safely and appropriately, a taser can be a useful tool.

To know that they're being abused and people are dying requires only a cursory reading of LBN or any decent newspaper.

8. Is this the case where the grand jury declined to look at the tape
documenting the cops behavior in the death of a man in custody. What on earth would posses them to ignore a such a vital clue in finding out why this man died.
