Church owes victims an apology, ex-aide says
http://www.suntimes.com/output/news/cst-nws-abuse27.html

NEW YORK -- The former child protection officer for the U.S. bishops says the Vatican owes an apology to victims of clergy sex abuse.

''The victims and their families are deserving of overdue apologies from the highest levels of the church,'' Kathleen McChesney wrote in the May 30 edition of the Jesuit magazine America. snip

McChesney also said the abuse scandal should prompt church leaders to give ''serious thought'' to allowing priests to marry. snip

McChesney said Pope Benedict XVI needs to understand that the abuse crisis is not over, and noted that more than 1,000 new abuse claims were made in American dioceses last year.

1. How Long Does It Take For The Vatican To Admit A Mistake? 200 Years?

2. New pope isn't going to change anything.
If anything he'll be much mor secretive, and no way will he change the marriage doctrine.

4. Pope Benedict XVI is not going to make the situation better.

He has been part of the cover-up.

He is, and has been, part of the problem.
