Iraq Qaeda says Zarqawi wounded, urges prayers-Web
Seems like every other week, we hear a report that this guy was either seriously wounded or almost captured. I believe them.;-) ;-)

DUBAI (Reuters) - Al Qaeda's group in Iraq said on Tuesday its leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi had been wounded and urged Muslims to pray for him, according to a Web posting.

"O nation of Islam... Pray for the healing of our Sheikh Abu Musab al-Zarqawi from an injury he suffered in the path of God," said a statement from the Al Qaeda Organization for Holy War in Iraq. Its authenticity could not be verified.

"You are the beloved of the mujahideen (holy fighters), and may God heal you and make you steadfast ...," said the statement posted by a user on an Islamist site which often publicizes the group's activities.

"Our Sheikh has taught us that nothing is worthy compared to...Islam," it added.

2. And if he dies, another will take his place.
He is not as significant as we have been lead to believe.

18. He's already died several times. Doesn't matter, Americans still
fall for it. Same with OBL...doesn't matter what he's done or not done or how dead he is...Americans still fall for it. See above.

5. Think of the news anchors! The plight! The strife!
I mean, if we capture al-Zarqawi (and I hope that we do), all of those jabbering media heads will have to learn how to pronounce the name of whatever supervillian the White House chooses to take his place as the "Most Wanted Man".

You'd think they'd wise up and start ordering their listing of Wantd Men based on the ease with which we could catch them. Since most Americans can't even tell the difference between Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden. . . would it really matter?

7. We'll never capture him
He's much too useful as a bogey man to justify our continued presence in Iraq.

As for the report of him being wounded, one need look no further than "It's authenticity could not be verified" to know that this is P-R-O-P-A-G-A-N-D-A.

19. Is that Lucas quote legit
When I saw Revenge of the Sith....the one line that made my blood freeze was 'So this is how Democracy ends, to applause'. Brought it into sharp focus for me. There were others but that one stopped my heart for a few seconds.

13. Pepe Escobar figured it out long ago.
The statement by Zarqawi's group was posted by a user on an Islamist site which often publicises the group's activities.

....

Bullshit. This is psyops... linking Al Queda with Iraq... keep the meme going - Saddam/9-11.

He's da' BOOGIE MAN!

Can't have war without one. We went from Osama bin Forgotton to Saddam Smellypants and now the NEW and improved one legged BAD guy - All Zarqaweed.
----------

A two-part article in Asia Times challenges the assertion by the Bush administration that al-Qaeda – or even religious zealotry – is behind the suicide bombing campaign by anti-occupation forces in Iraq. American officials claim to have uncovered proof of the elusive link in a memo allegedly written by an al-Qaeda operative, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. But Pepe Escobar claims “al-Qaeda pigeons are highly unlikely to move around with computer discs in their briefcases”, and the contents of the memo read like something drafted in Langley, Virginia. In his second article, Escobar notes al-Qaeda is more symbol than organization, made larger than life by both the Bush administration and Islamist militants for their own purposes. Self-styled Islamist organizations in Iraq, Palestine and Afghanistan, he says, are primarily waging defensive wars of national liberation from foreign occupation rather than messianic religious struggles to spread Islam. Interesting also is Escobar’s view that the Bush reelection campaign would benefit more from a small-scale suicide attack on American soil than from bin Laden’s capture. (See articles below).

10. it should NOT be news, unless it can be confirmed
and it can't

typical maimstream media propaganda

It never fails. We took a massive hit in the last three days, and then they always come out with a story which can't be confirmed in our favor. This is 1984

At the end of the world, only cockroaches and the invincible al-Zarqawi will be left.

He is deadly and might cut off their heads. I don't think they want to do that.

--In one recent case, Iraqi officials tore apart a Baghdad hospital in a frenzied, ultimately fruitless search for the terrorist mastermind.--
