Gallup Poll: Bush Approval Mark Nears Low
(CNN) -- President Bush's job approval rating dropped to near its lowest point and Congress received poor marks as well in a national poll released Monday.

Forty-six percent of 1,006 adults polled over the weekend said they approved of the overall job Bush is doing, according to a CNN/USA Today/Gallup Poll.

Over the past year, Bush's rating has hovered near 50 percent, with a low of 45% in March and a high of 57% just after his second inauguration and the State of the Union in February.

The 46% figure is down about 4 percentage points since a poll taken at the beginning of May.

On domestic issues, the president's approval ratings are at an all-time low -- 40 percent of respondents approve of his work on the economy and 33 percent approve of his plans for Social Security changes.

46. Don't stop working on it till it's there.
Here's how.

Remind Mr. and Mrs. America until they KNOW:

A few months before September 11, 2001,
the crazy monkey's "unofficial*" biographer noted
Bush seemed afraid of aerial attack by hijacked planes
commandeered by Osama bin Laden.

Why would Osama bin Laden want to kill Dubya, his former business partner?

By James Hatfield

Editor's note: In light of last week's horrific events and the Bush administration's reaction to them, we are reprising the following from the last column Jim Hatfield wrote for Online Journal prior to his tragic death on July 18:

July 3, 2001—There may be fireworks in Genoa, Italy, this month, too.

A plot by Saudi master terrorist, Osama bin Laden, to assassinate Dubya during the July 20 economic summit of world leaders, was uncovered after dozens of suspected Islamic militants linked to bin Laden's international terror network were arrested in Frankfurt, Germany, and Milan, Italy, in April.

German intelligence services have stated that bin Laden is covertly financing neo-Nazi skinhead groups throughout Europe to launch another terrorist attack at a high-profile American target—his first since the bombing of the USS Cole in Yemen last October.

According to counter-terrorism experts quoted in Germany's largest newspaper, the attack on Dubya might be a James Bond-like aerial strike in the form of remote-controlled airplanes packed with plastic explosives.

Why would Osama bi Laden want to kill, Dubya, his former business partner?

In the article, the late author did not even consider LIHOP. The term, in fact 9-11, had not yet happened.

impeached and getting life sentences? And then let the trials start with the Ceo's of big corporations. That is my dream. Oh, yes--a real progressive party.

Except to make people dislike him, that is...

I guess flying around the country getting thrown softball questions about an idea nobody likes isn't impressing anyone.

16. What's the "Democrats" approval rating???
If 2004 taught us anything, it's that having a shitty President isn't enough to get him out of office. Let's make sure that we're making gains as George Jr. flushes himself down the toilet, and 2006 could be a VERY good year.

Unless they plan to impeach the bastard, it really doesn't matter.
He'll do what he wants to do and we'll suffer the consequences. Polls
are meaningless to Bush, and they should be to the rest of us as well.
