Three Arrested in Sex Ring Involving Kids, Animals, and Church
http://wafb.com/Global/story.asp?S=3363499

"The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's office has broken up what they call a 'child sex abuse cult.' Three members of a Ponchatoula church have been arrested for allegedly raping children, and in some cases, having sex with animals. Some of the kids are as young as two years old.

The Tangipahoa Sheriff's office says the alleged abuse occurred two years ago. Sheriff Daniel Edwards says his office began investigating the Hosanna Church more than a month ago, after getting information from a mother of an alleged victim. The big break in the case came Monday when the church's minister turned himself in to the Livingston Parish Sheriff's office, and allegedly named names, one of whom was a Sheriff's deputy."

1. Good God!
That's not far from where I used to live.

It's Louisiana, probably in Hammond.

From the story:

Sheriff's officials say certain church members allegedly raped children and animals in a cult-like fashion at the Hosanna Church. A nieghbor says when he found out about it, "It surprised me. But I wouldn't put it pass them. They were weird looking people to begin with."

Of Wet and Muddy Faces
written by John N. Felsher

Somehow, in moment of weakness and temporary insanity, I agreed to tent camp with 14 pre-teen boys from our church......Unintentionally, I started a survival-of-the-fittest contest when I brought out four weenie-roasting forks for 14 boys. The adults lost. Laws probably prohibit combining slippery mud, overcharged boys, sharp objects and a fire -- and for good reason. God watched over us, though, because no one, not even the fathers, suffered any serious injuries, discounting numerous scrapes, scratches, bruises and an occasional burn from an overzealous fire keeper.

Rev. Louis LaMonica, pastor of the church, joined us later that evening. He said something about being late because of a church function. I suspect he just waited as long as he could, thinking the boys would finally be asleep. He didn't wait long enough. Bringing his own supper of fast food, he obviously had heard of my famed "Deep Woods Char-raw" and didn't take any chances, despite his belief in divine healing.

I didn't think the boys would ever run out of energy. Some didn't until after they returned home. They never walked anywhere, preferring to run. If only I could bottle that and sell it!

Pastor LaMonica also left early the next day, saying something about having a lot of praying to do for us. He was probably correct about that.

People, if you have minor children, be sure that all adult chaperones have had CORI & SORI background checks!

5. ho-kay
I don't live too far from Pontchatoula so I'll try to find out more. Right now my best guess is that we have a crazy guy and some hysteria. One of the not-so-great moments in our area occurred when a doctor was arrested because he was taking a shower in his own house...and stupidly left the front door unlocked...and a toddler got in and walked into his bathroom and later told his mom he saw the guy's wee-wee! And the doctor was arrested because a kid broke into his house. while he was minding his business taking a shower. :eyes:

So I'll retain my skepticism until I know more. Right now, I don't know if the guy really did get it on with animals and children alike, or if he just watched too many movies. I'll post in the great if and when I get some information. I find it difficult to belief that even the nuttiest of churches can justify having sex with two year olds.

I don't think this is a trumped up case, after all. I am usually skeptical about these things after the McMartin Preschool debacle decades ago.. Sounds like this may be the real deal.

Edited on Thu May-19-05 12:59 PM by amazona
I did not yet know when I first posted if his confession was reality-based or if he was a loony-toon.

I'm now convinced that this evil **** probably happened, since it sounds like two of the guilty are telling the same story. How can grown men get together and deliberately conspire to orgy with cats, dogs, and kids in a freakin' church?

I have begun to believe that the evil rhetoric of some of fundy churches deliberately attracts the diseased mind.

42. Um...
But they found the McMartin tunnels you know.
An investigator hired UCLA archaeologist Gary Stickle. They did ground penetrating radar and dug and found the tunnels pretty much as the kids described them.
It's just another thing the wonderful, so trustworthy M$M 'forgot' to tell you about.

The case was a debacle, for the kids.

They dug the whole damn lot and part of the surrounding neighborhood up. This certainly wasn't shown and proven at trial. The McMartin defendants were innocent.

47. Oh, yes, indeedy, they found tunnels.
From 1994

http://users.cybercity.dk/~ccc44406/smwane/McMartin4.htm

<snip>
McGauley and Gunderson organized the 1990 McMartin dig and hired LA archaeologist Gary Sickel. Information on Sickel's background will be forthcoming. At this point, suffice to say that Sickel used the McMartin parents as the sole excavators of the site. These were people who not only had an agenda about finding something, but who had a history of apparently implanting phony artifacts. This is significant in light of the fact that the artifacts they present now as their chief evidence are two small (easily implantable) items: a Mickey Mouse plastic sandwich bag and a saucer with five-pointed stars painted on it.

<end snip>

<snip>
Currently, McGauley and Sickel are making Sickel's report on the dig available only to members of the child protection coterie who have made their careers promoting the existence of satanic ritual abuse -- such as Coulbourn-Faller and Summit. The report is not available to the public. McGauley and Summit have said it cannot be released unless someone (a publisher, for instance) pays substantial amounts of money for it. This position contradicts the normal practice in California among archaeologists, which is to archive their reports for peer review and public use.
<end snip>

The author's claim is later repudiated by none other than Ted Gunderson, who was living with McGauley at the time, denounced her later, and claims he footed the bill for some of the "archaeological" dig. Gunderson's name may be familiar to some DUers, as he was involved just a few months ago in the Johnny Gosch/James Guckert/Jeff Gannon brouhaha. Gunderson's name has also been linked with Art Bell.

Not exactly my idea of a "reliable" source.

54. Um, sorry, didn't mean to give the impression
that I believed Gunderson.

Gunderson was the "unreliable" source.

I remember hearing about the "tunnels" story years and years ago, but not clearly enough. However, I was pretty sure the whole McMartin thing was a witch-hunt and therefore the tunnels thing was probably bogus as well.

When I read the two links, I was sure of it.

Had there been any substance to the tunnels story, the McMartin case would have been blown wide open again, and it never was, AFAIK.

Just to be clear -- I'm on the side that thinks the McMartin case was a smear, that some people were so paranoid they'd believe anything, that the tunnels story was partially hoax, partially a frantic desire on the part of some paranoid parents to produce ANYTHING that could be seen as proof that the McMartins were guilty and they -- the parents -- weren't fruitcakes.

45. I honestly don't think I believe this
Do I believe the guy did stuff to kids? Hell yeah. MAYBE even the other two guys, though I am skeptical until all of the information and evidence is shown. But the rest of it? Sorry. It smacks too much of the McMartin-Little Rascals- Many More child sex abuse cases in the 90's and early 90's. Just too fantastic. The sex with the cat thing, etc. I lived in NC (Greensboro) when the Little Rascal case was being tried, and I knew then it was a pack of lies and poor coached kids. It's come out I was right. And the same thing has happened with EVERY SINGLE ONE of these claims.

Do I believe abuse happens, especially between authority figures like minister/priest/teachers/parents and kids? Hell yeah? Are they scum? Again, hell yeah. If they're guilty, put them away for life, no parole, solitary confinement.

But the rest of this is too fantastic.

And, I'd appreciate it if no one says I'm saying this kind of abuse is okay. I am not saying that. I think this guy is nuts.

Edited on Thu May-19-05 04:55 PM by Project_Willow
There is no way you could know, unless you were there.

If you think humans, yes, even American humans aren't capable of this kind of stuff, you are naive and you are enabling the activity.

The cases in the 80's and 90's were not uniformly debunked. Do some research, if you question Gunderson then, question the other sources too, find out where the trails lead.

The Eberles who lead the fight on behalf of the defendants in the McMartin case, check out their pasts. The leaders of the FMSF, like Orne, and Wakefield, look into what they were up to before they came to the aid of all the "poor" folks accused of pedophilia.

These people above have an agenda much more powerful than that of the families. All we need is someone who is capable of doing some research WITH AN OPEN MIND.

8. Deputy, Pastor, Church Member Jailed In Child Sex Abuse (3rd arrest)
Deputy, Pastor, Church Member Jailed In Child Sex Abuse

PONCHATOULA, La. -- Tangipahoa Parish sheriff's deputies made a third arrest Wednesday in the ongoing investigation of a case involving allegations of sexual abuse of children and animals at a Ponchatoula church.

Austin Aaron Bernard III, 36, of SW Railroad Avenue, in Hammond, was arrested on a charge of aggravated rape of a child under the age of 13.

Police said Bernard confessed to detectives that he had sex with a young girl in November 2002 and admitted to knowing about alleged sexual acts involving children, dogs and cats that occurred at Hosanna Church, where he was a member.

(snip)

On Monday, Louis Lamonica, 45, the former pastor of Hosanna Church, was booked with two counts of aggravated rape and one count of crime against nature after he walked in to the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office and said he could implicate others in a situation at the church that reportedly occurred two years ago.

All three are being held without bond.

(snip)

Additional arrests are expected.

17. taught children how to perform sexual acts with each other & with animals
(Excerpt)

Officials with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office acknowledged investigating sexual crimes that they believe Lamonica and others committed and said they anticipate arresting Lamonica soon for crimes in their jurisdiction as well, Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's spokesman Chuck Reed said.

On Monday, Lamonica talked to Livingston Parish detectives about the sex crimes and gave them information on his own sexual activities involving sex with children and a dog, Carpenter said.

Lamonica told Livingston Parish detectives that he educated the children on how to perform sexual acts with each other and with animals, Carpenter said.

At this point, detectives don't know how many potential victims are involved but said they could range in age from toddlers to teens, Carpenter said.

I do not believe these ****wits are Democrats. The odds are way against it.

The story seems almost too over-the-top to be true -- but with the reputable Baton Rouge Advocate reporting, and apparently two of the man having already confessed to similar dirty deeds, I'm going to conclude that it is true. Ponchatoula is a beautiful little town with an attractive antique industry. It is a shame that a few evil ****tards are bringing such negative attention to the area. Cat, dog, and child ****ing are not the usual activities of this area, and I would hope the full force of the law is brought to bear on the guilty.

www.missionnotaccomplished.us - Be it MNA Day 3 or 8 or 15 or .... the day will come when 10s of millions of Americans and others stop their typical activities for 24 hours and urge 10 times that many to join should another MNA Day be required. On that glorious day America will have begun truly to be "America," again.

41. Not surprising but sickening.
A fundie church in Missouri encourages a single sex act between Father's and Daughters at the age of 12 or 13. There are more weird practices going on out there than can be tracked.

43. Religion is based upon having superiority over others
The big whatever has the right to do whatever it pleases to anyone. Those who believe in the big whatever have more rights than heathens. Getting others to submit is the soul of the problem. Why is it surprising that hyperreligious nutcases kill, rape and dominate?

There's a pervasive mindset that says that belief in the supernatural makes one a better person. That's crazy. Belief in the supernatural makes one unassailable among other believers.

Once one accepts weird shit as truth, other weird shit simply follows.

Why is it any surprise that those whose worldview is hierarchical tend to dominate and abuse the weak? This isn't just coincidental.

55. How does a human being have sex with a cat?
Seriously, I find this particular claim difficult to believe. Not impossible, but difficult.

For one thing, I don't know too many cats that are large enough to accept a human penis, even a small one, without major injury.

But second, what self-respecting cat stands still (pun intended) for that kind of treatment? Most cats are only front-paw declawed, so it would still have hind claws, and even if these folks (disclaimer -- I did NOT read the full article) were only f***ing totally declawed cats, wouldn't the animals squirm and bite and generally avoid being penetrated? And if the cats still had all their claws, well, I'm female and I don't even want to think of what it would feel like to have cat claws sinking into one's penis and/or testicles.

If I missed something in the article itself, my apologies.
