Blair can expect comfortable retirement

Big News Network.com Sunday 15th May, 2005 (UPI)

A newspaper reports that British Prime Minister Tony Blair can expect a good income for the rest of his life when he hands in his papers.

The London Telegraph obtained documents under the Freedom of Information Act on the pensions Blair can expect.

To begin with, all prime ministers begin receiving half their pay as soon as they leave. In Blair's case, this would come to 62,400 pounds or more than $115,000 a year for the rest of his life.

When he leaves Parliament, Blair becomes eligible for another pension, kicking in at 60, which is based on length of service and the amount a member has contributed. He would also get a year's pay as a redundancy payment as an MP and another payment as an ex-prime minister.
Lets call him a triple dipper!!!

3. Bush and Blair and friends should personally rebuild Iraq
They can get some lessons from (real) President Carter and Habitat for Humanity.

Clean up the mess they've made, and all that. They can empty septic tanks across the country as part of the rebuilding effort. And NO army bonuses of 72 million dollars as a reward either.

5. And that's not even counting his future seat at Carlyle
Blair will be well compensated by Bushco for his complicity.
