US Troops Kill Iraqi Civilians
US troops kill Iraqi civilians

Saturday 14 May 2005, 12:57 Makka Time, 9:57 GMT

The US soldiers opened fire on a civilian car while on patrol

US troops have shot and killed eight Iraqis, including five civilians, during an attack on a patrol.

US troops killed three fighters who fired on their convoy after trying to ram it on Friday in Mosul, 390km north of Baghdad, the American military said.

The soldiers then opened fire on two cars that approached the patrol and appeared to be hostile, killing five civilians, the military said. The incident is under investigation.

2. All Iraqis are Insurgents except the ones ...
in the Green Zone. Well...who knows maybe some there are Insurgents, as well but don't brag about it.

6. The leader of the resistance appears to be in the Green Zone.
This Sunday Times report from Baghdad about al-Zorro says "The claim was supported yesterday by a senior commander in the Iraqi resistance who had been to Ramadi to investigate the report."

I can't imagine the Times reporters going outside the green zone to interview a senior commander of "the resistance". So the resistance must be in-house.

Sometimes there's a glitch in the Matrix.

5. I thought that if there was more than one
person in a car (the lone bomber scenario) that would make the Iraqis safe :sarcasm:

7. From day one of the "liberation" Iraqi civilians have been wantonly killed
I remember a tiny snippet tangled up in the euphoria a day after Saddam's statue fell saying thirteen unarmed "demonstrators" (?) had been shot dead.

It started then and hasn't stopped, but hey who's counting.
