Two killed in grenade attack at mosque - Philippines

A man hurled a grenade into a mosque in the southern Philippines during weekly prayers on Friday, killing at least two people and wounding many more, police and witnesses said.

The attack took place in the town of Midsayap in the southern region of Mindanao and local officials said it could have been motivated by a personal grudge rather than by religious hatred.

The mosque was full of officials and employees of the government's National Irrigation Administration.
