D.C. Mayor Says Officials Unaware of Alert
WASHINGTON - While the Capitol, White House and other federal buildings were being evacuated Wednesday, city officials were unaware that a small plane had flown into restricted airspace over the capital, Mayor Anthony Williams said.

The mayor said city officials weren't notified until after the all-clear was sounded.

"Critical and potentially life-or-death information about threats facing district residents needs to be shared immediately — not five, 10 or 15 minutes after the fact," Williams said. "I am concerned about the apparent delay in alerting key decision-makers in the city."

The John A. Wilson Building, which houses the mayor's and District of Columbia Council offices and is two blocks from the White House, was not evacuated. Other city offices are also near federal installations that were evacuated.

1. We need to keep this stuff straight
The Secret Service wasn't notified until AFTER shrub had gone home from Georgia about the threat of the hand grenade.
Now, DC wasn't notified until AFTER the all-clear had been sounded.

Now--we wouldn't want to notify anyone DURING a crisis--wouldn't want anyone to find out "who" was actually responsible would we?

would notice for a couple of weeks.

5. A lot of the people who live around the White House are poor black folk.
They don't count.

8. Exactly. In fact, not one soul counts who isn't rich and powerful.
These rich sociopaths running our government (including the CEOs) could care less about anyone but themselves.

7. Yep, the ever-effecient DHS coordination department
strikes again!

And this is in DC where everyone knows each other, and gets along!

Imagine them trying to coordinate this in, oh, NYC, LA or SF... idiots.

9. This is really bad that they didn't notify local officials.
As much as they tout Homeland Security, this was a real break down in communication.

11. Why would they want to upset an entire city
When they only needed the photo-op of Congressmen running for thier lives? It did the trick just fine and completely derailed the entire "liberal" news media on the day Bush returns from Georgia amid reports of the Smoking Gun memo and Bolton's forced sex parties.

In case you weren't watching today, McClellen refused to answer questions about anything except the Cessna...nothing, and the first reporter who tried was shut down and told "we'll get to that subject later." When "later" came, every news station, CSPAN included, cut their coverage of the press conference. Every station. An American citizen who wanted to tune into the press conference and hear some answers about Bolton and the memo had no place to get this information in the "mainstream media." None. 500 channels on your Dish? Not a one of them was carrying this live press conference once the "real" questions started being asked.

12. Please post the Bolton Flynt story & the memo at as many
sites as possible. Send it all to the different media.

If Bolton does happen to be appointed, he will suffer the same fate as Clarence Thomas. He will have lost all credibility as a legitimate appointee.
