1. It will come in handy if they have another tsunami

They had the baby they had to do DNA analysis on to determine the parents' identity.
It will be easier to reunite families after a disaster, than waiting for DNA test results, which are quicker now than ever, but still take a few days.

In this country, most parents now take their kids in to be printed and photographed. Stores are forever sponsoring those things. It's far less invasive, in any sense of the word, than implanting a gps chip in their necks.

2. A National ID card will come in handy

for tracking criminals, too. And dissidents. And innocents...

7. British police want the same

Those in power always seek further power. The last head of the Met Police in England also floated the idea of creating a national DNA database. This kind of scheme is becoming more and more prominent with the spectre of terrorism. ID cards with biometric information are going to be pushed through parliament if Labour win the election, and face recognition cameras are already being put up.

Its like Orwell's continuous war being used bring everyone under control.
