2. Um, if your company has filed for bankruptcy...
You can pretty much bet you're going to be laid off.
Nobody should be surprised here.

6. Put resumes out now!!!!!!
That is what you should do if your employer files for bankruptcy. Do not wait for the pink slip. If you are canned you are a leg up on job hunting, if not you may find a better job. Either way it is wise to put out feelers when this happens.

Did you ever consider though that every Oklahoman did NOT vote for Bush.

Oh well, fuck us, we deserve it.

Your second sentence sounds so glum. But you don't deserve it, anymore than we libs in PA deserve Santorum. Hopefully our respective day will come :)

8. Speaking for myself
I realize that not everyone in Oklahoma voted for Dr."Let's execute those who perform abortions"Coburn, or Wack job Inhofe, or George "I was protecting Texas from Vietnamese"Bush.

And I truly am sorry for those who will be affected by the layoffs of this company, and the possible closings of military bases, but only if they voted against the Repuke ticket. As for those who voted against their own interests so that gays can't get married, or someone else's perverted twisted view of "morals and family values",
I feel nothing for you, no sympathy, nothing.

Those who voted for BushCo, and it's supporters, deserve what they will receive. I'm just sorry that the people who didn't support BushCo, will still be hurt.

Not all of you deserve this, but you will be affected by what your fellow Oklahomans did.

12. I do not know one single Oklahoman
other than an elderly man who is friends of my dad's that voted for Bush.

I have seen many of these "we are all dumbasses" type threads and I have to wonder who those other Oklahomans are hanging out with.

The Oklahomans I know despise the bastard Bush. did NOT vote for him and they themselves know no one who did.

So I think you know what you can do with that wide brush that you wnat to paint the citizens of this state with.

Maybe you should just fucking move and stop stinking the place up with your defeatist attitude.

10. There ARE blue Okies..
and they will be effected by this as well....Service workers and people like my Okie relative that gets paid ONLY by commission at a car dealership. When the local economy tanks, people start cutting back on the "extras" in their lives, causing a ripple effect...lawn people, hair stylists, car dealership staff, ALL feel it, blue and red alike.
I don't know alot about their governor, but he IS a Dem., so there has to be SOME blueness up there...unless he's a DINO?

5. Welcome to your "New World" economy. Keep repeating every morning,
with your cup of coffee, "the economy is getting better", ask me how? It will all be fine, just keep repeating 10 times per hour. It will all be fine.

9. Maybe you can get a job in the oil/gas business. I thought
that was what they do in Tulsa. I remember as a young child going to the Oil Fair in Tulsa. At that time Tulsa was referred to as the Oil Capital of the World. Except for your company, things must be booming in Tulsa. I know the rest of the state is on fire.

Good luck - I keep hearing the economy is great in Oklahoma and Texas. I lived in Norman for 14 years, unfortunately it was during the oil depression of the early 80's that I decided to leave. I think I will probably move back to OKC in a few years when I retire -cost of living is much lower than where I currently live on the east coast.

a great governor, the guy has done a wonderful job with the economy, which is like pulling rabbits out of your ass. I would be really surprised if he didn't get re-elected.

14. Oklahoma may get hit hard....again....w/ base closures
http://www.kotv.com/main/home/stories.asp?whichpage=1&id=82551

New U.S. military base closings "will be tsunamis in the communities they hit," the chairman of the commission that will help decide which facilities survive said Tuesday as his panel met for the first time.

Anthony Principi said the nine-member commission will try to provide a "clear-eyed reality check" of the Pentagon's list of domestic defense installations that should be shuttered or downsized. The Defense Department is expected to release that list next week.

Defense installations being reviewed in Oklahoma include Tinker Air Force Base, Altus Air Force Base, Fort Sill in Lawton, Vance Air Force Base in Enid and the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant. The state also has two Air National Guard facilities, one in Oklahoma City and the other in Tulsa, that are part of the evaluation.

Underscoring the economic impact base closures can cause, the Government Accountability Office issued a report stating that communities that lost bases in previous years "are continuing to recover" and have regained about 85 percent of the civilian jobs that were lost. The GAO is an investigative arm of Congress.

16. "the economy is great in Oklahoma and Texas"
Whoever said that is dead wrong...last time my part of TX was "great" was with Clinton in office.

Since chimp was appointed (and then frauded his way into office)the DFW area has lost tons of jobs, high tech companies have shut down or outsourced/laid off. Foreclosures are thru the roof---the monthly foreclosure list has mansions on it, service providers are feeling the pinch cuz people no longer can afford lawn people, they are going longer between haircuts/dye jobs, etc.. (per the lady who did my hair a few weeks ago).
Problem is, the red sheep in my county have yet to connect the dots..SIX gas stations within 2 miles of my house have been leveled, boarded up, with one turned into a Greek restaurant that no one is ever at.
Now we have a hospital on every street corner cuz the county that was built on high tech in the 90's has imploded. So the county is now investing it's economy in healthcare...we'll see how long THAT lasts.

19. The eroding middle class is why the Democratic Party...
...should ditch GOP-lite and embrace economic populism.

The writing's on the wall. Do Democrats care to read it?
