Bush taken to bunker after airspace scare
http://www.swissinfo.org/sen/swissinfo.html?siteSect=143&sid=5727535&cKey=1114623311000

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President George W. Bush was hustled into an underground shelter on Wednesday amid fears an aircraft had entered the restricted airspace around the White House, officials said. The Secret Service determined minutes later that it was a false alarm.

Vice President Dick Cheney also was moved to a secure location as heavily armed Secret Service agents cleared the area in front of the presidential mansion.

White House spokesman Scott McClellan said the president was in the underground bunker for a "very short amount of time." He said he believed it was the first time Bush had been taken to the shelter since the September 11, 2001, attacks.

"There were some precautionary measures that were taken. It was quickly learned that it was a false alarm and that all was clear in a very short amount of time," McClellan said. "Everything is fine."

Lets face it we lost this fight and I think we all know who to blame. It's not the rank and file DUer, it is the people we thought were suposed to represent us. I voted for the last time in Nov.

32. And let the softening up being...
If you recall prior to the beginning of the Iraq war, there were a couple of these, "the prez was hustled to his bunker". You just never know, those crazy Iranians maybe plotting a...well a plot.

This is to let the people know that even though we are safe, we still aren't really safe, but hey, we're still safe but not THAT safe. So safety have become a debatable topic...

Somewhere in a think tank in DC several high paid republican spin machine brainiacs figure out new ways to interpret safety....

brainiac: what is safety? Is it the warm embrace of a mothers love?

regular genius: or is it the hot lead of automatic machine gun fire?

wisenheimer: or perhaps it's the mere comforting words of a leader...

They pause, look at each other and break out laughing...

poindexter: let's go with words, I shiver at the thought of a hug from barbara bush...(shutters)

egghead: oh man, nightmares tonight...

pencil neck: so safety is kind of relative then. I choose the Orwellian theory. keep telling them we are safe, even when the bombs are dropping all around us...

paper pusher: didn't hitler do that?

boy genius: whoa whoa there partner, let's not invoke the H man here.

clever dick: we need a new word for bunker. it sounds so...I don't know...desperate...

thinks he's Eisenstein: perhaps something hip, like pad? or lair?

brainasaurus: heyyyyyy, how about this....

That night on the news

faux reporter: today the president worried about another attack sort refuge in his freedom protection pad...who writes this crap?

64. Incoming Cloud Forces Bush Into Safe Bunker
The Guardian 4/29/05

President George Bush was bundled into an underground bunker, Dick Chemey was evacuated to an "undisclosed location" and heavily armed secret servicemen took up defensive positions when a fast-moving cloud scudded towards the White House, it was reported yesterday.

The cloud that materialised 30 miles south of Washington on Wednesday morning was so dense it triggered radar monitors on the Domestic Events network, intended to prevent a repeat of the September 11 attacks.

As an anti-aircraft missile battery on the roof of a nearby building was raised to the fire position, a Black Hawk helicopter was scrambled to take a look, but saw nothing except some clouds, one of which turned out to be the suspected aggressor.

I had read where it was a flock of birds, but just added the flock of seagulls part as an 80's reference.

Remember Monty Python and the Holy Grail..

ARTHUR:
What, behind the rabbit?
TIM:
It is the rabbit.
ARTHUR:
You silly sod!
TIM:
What?
ARTHUR:
You got us all worked up!
TIM:
Well, that's no ordinary rabbit!
ARTHUR:
Ohh.
TIM:
That's the most foul, cruel, and bad-tempered rodent you ever set eyes on!
ROBIN:
You tit! I soiled my armour I was so scared!
TIM:
Look, that rabbit's got a vicious streak a mile wide! It's a killer!
GALAHAD:
Get stuffed!
TIM:
He'll do you up a treat, mate.

.
.
.

gotta love that . .

so we're safer now eh, Georgie Boy?

feckin idjut . . .

actually

in the long run Bu$hCo and gang may have done the world a favor in their murderous invasions

I don't think that their are too many countries that have any doubts as to the USA's domination agenda

or their weakness, Achilles heel if you like -

the USA's insatiable greed for that which is not theirs -

OIL

USA will kill a few more million in this quest

but they will lose

Venezuela is quite open and vocal about it's pursuit of oil partners/customers other than the US

Canada isn't, yet - but IS pursuing markets other than the US, specifically China

and yeah - we're marketing our beef, cattle, lumber, steel, etc that the US figured they had first choice on -

I dunno if any of the US big economy wizards are noticing, but the world is trying to deal it's wares/products/services ANYWHERE except the USA -

It will take a decade or two for the majority to figure it out, but the USA is now under world-wide sanctions (unofficial) as countries seek to exclude the USA from their dealings without getting blown to bits in the process . .

Like, exactly WHAT does the USA have to offer the world that we can't get elsewhere?

OH right - -

unending wars . . .

78. Probably thought it was some alien thing.
That or one of them Biblical things he heard about in his Sunday school for tea-totalers: "The People were led by a column of fire by night and a cloud by day..." Not that Smirko McCokespoon would know any better himself. People who know about this stuff would be scared, meaning Bushler had somebody tell him what to do.

Och, woman, if a blancmange is prepared to come 2,200,000 light years to purchase a kilt, they must be fairly keen on kilts. So cease yer prattling woman and get sewing. This could be the biggest breakthrough in kilts since the Provost of Edinburgh sat on a spike. Mary, we'll be rich! We'll be rich!
