First Lady Says No Plans to Seek Office
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=544&ncid=703&e=1&u=/ap/20050427/ap_on_go_pr_wh/laura_bush

Despite her popularity, first lady Laura Bush says she's not interested in running for higher office.

Bush made the declaration Tuesday, telling "Tonight Show" host Jay Leno that she has no aspirations for holding office and doesn't even pay much attention to her approval ratings — though she tracks her husband's.

The first lady's approval rating hovered around 80 percent in February, according a USA TODAY/CNN/Gallup Poll, the most recent taken. By contrast, the president's overall approval rating is at 47 percent, a Washington Post-ABC News poll released Tuesday shows.

Does Bush ever taunt her husband because her ratings are higher? "No, but I might," she told Leno on Tuesday's program.

I can see it all now...

Senator Pickles "Hit 'n Run" Bushie, from the great state of Texas.

C'mon, someone is going to have to take Kay Bailey Hutchinson's seat. ;)

8. oh really. how moronic to even pose the question.
just because hillary, an extremely educated and experienced lawyer and politician decided to pursue a career of her own doesnt mean the vaccuous, vapid, mind-numbingly dull, smiling armband on little hitlers arm should have similar aspirations.

Edited on Wed Apr-27-05 11:10 AM by napi21
She is exactly what a lot of Pubs want in a First Lady. She stays in the background, always walks a few steps behind her husband, tends to things like picking china patterns, flowers for the WH, and menus for WH dinners. Although I feel sorry for her...having to live with an idiot, she is the perfect non-controversial person.

I suspect, if she were to make any noises about any office, those ratings would plumet.

which they dropped a long time ago when they found out that not everyone was all that crazy about their place in society in the 50's

17. Just image that future...ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!
Oh man, what a thought, I mean jeeez, damn, owwww, ugh, that one made my brain hurt. That would be breath takingly stupid in it's expanse.

I can't believe, even for a repuke, someone had the nerve or the stupidity or perhaps they were pulling a prank, to ask such a question. Ugh, I mean, UGH!

There are no words to describe such a bizarre and strange question.

Deep somewhere in the whitehouse a gaggle of reporters gather for a first lady press conference....

Pickles: thank you for coming. Yes, Bob in the front row...

Bob(reporter): How do you think your role as first lady has played toward the American public?

Pickles: Well...I think...I enjoy plays...and...I believe the American public does too...next question.

Bob is visibly speechless, sits down. The gaggle jumps up to ask a question.

Pickles: Jeff G in the front row...

Jeff G(not a real reporter but plays one on the net): Do you have aspirations to run for office?

The room falls dead quiet. An aghast reporter next to Jeff G(not a real reporter but plays one on the net), stares at him with mouth agape.

Jeff G(not a real reporter but plays one on the net): What? It was a valid question.

The first lady pears out across a room of reporters with mouths collectively agape.

Pickles: Umm...I enjoy running...I have run an office...so perhaps I will do that again...

The room is silent.

21. I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THAT LAURA BUSH IS A POPULA FIRST LADY ...
is it because she just carries the name BUSH?

IS IT BECAUSE SHE DOESN'T CREATE WAVES?

IS IT BECAUSE SHE LIES FOR BUSH AND COVERS UP FOR HIS IMBECILITY?

it surely cannot be because of any merits she has accomplished on her own rights.

the american public appears to be so fickle.
