Hutchison is dividing GOP, e-mail says
Dallas official urges fellow chairs to ask the senator to stay out of the gubernatorial race

AUSTIN - U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison's home county Republican chairman sent an e-mail around Texas on Tuesday urging his fellow chairs to ask Hutchison to stay out of next year's GOP gubernatorial primary.

Dallas GOP Chairman Nate Crain, a major donor to Gov. Rick Perry's campaign, said Hutchison's posturing for a possible gubernatorial race is seriously dividing Republicans.

"I am asking you to help end this destructive conflict by calling Senator Hutchison or writing to her to discourage her from running for governor," Crain wrote. "Also, please consider sharing your thoughts with your constituents as well as your local media."
(snip)

Hutchison campaign manager Terry Sullivan said Crain's e-mail is part of an orchestrated effort by Perry's campaign to use a few vocal supporters to shore up his support.

2. Wow, what is this day for republicans....
Cover up the hand that feeds you day?

Tom DeLay only wants Perry to stay there, so that even once he sees the inside of that prison cell Governor Perry can continue to lobby everyone the world over for christian fundie causes, and likely make a little bit of corporate money on the side.

After all, she controls Texas and could do some great re-districting with those Diebold machines.....

That is if Hutchison doesn't steal her seat. I'd pay to see that, a division right down the middle.

3. And don't forget Carol Rylander - whats her name.
She's enough of a pit bull to go after Governor Goodhair's other trouser leg.
I would so love to see a 3-way hate fest for the Gubenatorial.

That said, Hutcfhinson is still a cheerleader for the Repugs. She is so saturated in GOP Koolaide that I'd give up on any serious dialogue with her.

4. Yeah trade one slight of hand, for yet another...
But at least she wouldn't be bullying the businesses into playing Tom DeLay's washed up districting strategy on her own political race...

5. Granted. She still has a smidgeon of common sense.
My fluffie kat would be a better governor than the doofus we currently have.
Even KBH would be an improvement - if only marginally.
I still wonder if she really beleives the things she says.

17. Carole Strayhorn's maiden name
Her maiden name is Keeton. Her father was longtime dean of The University of Texas Law School, Page Keeton. He was well-respected. As Carole Keeton McClellan, she was mayor of Austin, TX.

8. Both former cheerleaders, as well!
The editorial in the latest Texas Monthly takes KBH to task for dividing the Texas Republicans. Generally, Texas Monthly editorials involve major Bush toadying, so that must be the official line....

Divide away, Kay. And lets get Carol Keeton Cougar Mellencamp in on the game, as well.

16. The Texas governorship will be decided in the Republican primary
That's a promise.

I wrote off the Texas Democratic Party permanently after their "Dream Team" was swept in 2002.
