The (Social Security) fix is broken

WASHINGTON -- At the start, President George W. Bush was in-your-face brash, taking his Social Security sales pitch to Democratic senators' turf.

By Tuesday, he was down to stopping in his own backyard in Texas, reliably Republican and far from Washington, where his idea is struggling to survive.

But Bush's problem is that the more he talks about his idea for private accounts, the less the public seems to like it. A majority of Americans favored the concept before the tour. A slim majority in a new poll opposes it.

Now supporters are increasingly doubtful Bush can achieve his central domestic policy priority this year and talk about pushing it off until next year -- although most analysts believe it would be even harder to pass a bill next year, with congressional mid-term elections looming.

The recent stock market dip hasn't helped Republicans either, analysts note -- highlighting the risks of putting the money into the market.

2. The "presidency" is broken, too. Junior's "tour" proves it!
No one believes the lying f*cker anymore. The sheeple are beginning to wake up. Now they realize they were lied to regarding WMD, too (50% now believed they were lied to by the president.)
