Toronto Star: Practical joke backfires on CNN's Tucker Carlson
FROM ASSOCIATED PRESS

WASHINGTON — Conservative CNN commentator Tucker Carlson's practical joke on rival Fox News has backfired on him — and his wife.

While defending telemarketers during a segment on Crossfire last week, the bow-tied co-host was asked to give his own home phone number. Carlson gave out a number, but it was for the Washington bureau of Fox News, CNN's bitter rival.

The bureau was deluged with calls. To get back at him, Fox posted Carlson's unlisted home number on its Web site.

3. That headline makes Tucker at fault
He repeated a number anybody can get; Fox published his private number which is presumably unlisted. Big difference.

4. Yup. Have to Sympathize with Tucker on This One
Big, big difference. Looks like Fox is following the leader on intimidation tactics.

5. No joke, though, when the Faux Wingnuts called his home w/ threats...
... to his family and obscenities. Tucker learned fast that Faux viewers are typically maladjusted, bigoted thugs and bullies who'll say anything...over the phonelines... when spurred on by their Masters.

Methinks Tucker Carlson may be now where David Brooks (Blinded By The Right) was in 1997.

6. It may be different, but I think it's perfect.
Carlson LIED by giving out a number supposed to be his own. He wasn't about to give out his personal number because, well, he would be deluged with calls- which is what that telemarketer thing is all about! So in return, he gets deluged with calls, just like all the rest of us peons who don't have unlisted numbers.

Screw him. And screw Fox too for that matter. I hope Carlson starts giving out phone numbers of the producers over there and him and they all get fined for something.

8. You think he'd actually give out his real number?
Not just telemarketers would call; so would people who just want to harass him because he's a celebrity, or they don't like his politics, or they're just plain nuts. So of course he wouldn't give his real number. If you were in his shoes, would you? I know I wouldn't.
