"Fear and Loathing" Among the GOP (Abramoff trial)
Publicly, most House Republicans are rallying around embattled Majority Leader Tom DeLay as the Texan struggles to fend off a multifront ethics assault. On Apr. 20, Republicans on the House Ethics Committee said they were willing to end weeks of partisan wrangling with their Democratic counterparts by offering to take a fresh look at allegations that the conservative leader sidestepped the rules of the House of Representatives limiting junkets and otherwise abused his power.

. . .

But even such conservative stalwarts as former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who spent his own time on the ethics griddle, have opined that this "vast, Left-wing conspiracy" approach won't cut it in the absence of a full disclosure of the facts.

CLOUDS OVER A RAINMAKER. The mood among Hill Republicans is edgy, because nobody knows where the ethics wars are heading. Anxiety is palpable in House GOP cloakrooms, where the buzz is of unconfirmed reports that DeLay associate Jack Abramoff might drag key Republicans into a widening influence-peddling imbroglio. Abramoff is a Washington rainmaker enmeshed in a grand jury probe into his lobbying on behalf of Indian tribes grown wealthy on their casino operations.

. . .

"GOING TO GET UGLY." Lowell and his GOP client have kept a relatively low profile, but that's not halting the nail-biting on Capitol Hill. Lawmakers' fears were stoked several weeks ago, when reports surfaced that Abramoff might have information that could -- emphasis on could -- make trouble for some Republicans. Lowell flatly dismisses that idea. "I'm trying to help Jack," he told BusinessWeek Online. "He's a good and decent man, and he has been made into a caricature." Still, the chatter persists. "There's a lot of fear and loathing among those House offices that were dealing with Abramoff," says one GOP lobbyist. "It's going to get ugly."

2. "could make trouble for some republicans" Oh my...
Heh heh heh, that's the loudest crock. "could" is a direct understatement.

Jack Abramoff only happens to be on the board of directors for this snarly group-

Oh yeah, the answer is in the stars you lying, dirty, thieve proned fascists

In other words it will make big trouble for you.....Its going to get so wide, it will drag the entire cult of Arlington, Virginia down into the center limelight!

Hey I remember something your scripture blasphemer Tom Delay said.

"We just want to make sure that these judges have what is termed as "good behavior."

I guess you do DeLay, given your extensive resume. http://houseofscandal.org

Hey you know, I think the court system has their own definition of good behavior....Is anyone brave enough to guess what that might be?

9. Hey -- What Could You Be Talking About With YuricaReport?
First, they don't have a board of directors. And second, Jack Abramoff isn't on it.

It's a couple of old ladies trying to make a difference. It's apparent that you got the whole wrong idea.

Just sayin'. You should be aware that the ignorant things you write can hurt good people.

11. I think you misunderstood everything.
I wasn't talking about Yurica Report or who writes for Yurica Report.

You can read all about them on the front page of Yurica Report, by the way in these articles.

Sorry but, this is who the body is that is being mentioned, not the writers of magazines or articles out there.

"Three times a year for 23 years, a little-known club of a few hundred of the most powerful conservatives in the country have met behind closed doors at undisclosed locations for a confidential conference, the Council for National Policy, to strategize about how to turn the country to the right." <========================Jack Abramoff belongs to the upper management of this, not some old ladies.

15. "I Misunderstand You Perfectly, So..."
Latte P,

Please help us out.

You seem tickled pink at the original post, as "Jack Abramoff" seems to be incredulous that De Lay might be trying to dodge a "DeCon Man" following him (De Lay) in the guise of the Grim (political) Reaper, no?

Though I knew the references you were making about YuricaReport, and CNP ties some of these self-righteous scumbags together in a rather neatly organized bow of tentacular (testicular?) knots, while houseofscandal.org shows a more balanced (IMHO) and secular view of it all... I'm still not sure what your apparent glee springs from.

Does Abramoff think that "The Brotherhood" has no qualms about making him a DC *Gonzocastrati* if he sings like a stool pigeon?
Do either he or you think that the "Brotherhood's" code of Christian omerta will keep him from being "Wellstoned" or "Carnahaned"?

These SOBs play for keeps.

Or do you know something we don't? Or see some set of dominoes that will fall some way that we can't see them falling?

Given the 11/2004 elections with:

1) a lunar eclipse of exit polls at 12:23 AM followed by a confluence
of exit data and Network News reports.

2) no MSM coverage of *any* election regularities

3) failure of Rep. Conyers to get the attention of anyone, especially
the *GOP*, to acknowledge any of the irregularies he found in Ohio.

4) the Bob Ney Ohio "Matrix" hearings, starring "Thor" Hearne

5) the Carter-Baker "Matrix Reloaded" hearings, reprising" "Thor"
Hearne

6) and the MSM's generally Papal-like response to any election
questions (i.e., "Sorry, Mr. Galileo, but we don't *wish* to look
through your telescopo.
If God had wanted us to do so, he would have made us born with
these silly pieces of glass in our eyes!!"
"So, 'hah'! to you, you silly person!"

I had rather thought that all GOP/Dominionist/Fascisti dominoes were set in concrete. And though one might occasionally break into a Gonzillion pieces, I had never thought they could come tumbling down like the Walls of Jericho.

Are we wrong?
Please opine so that we might make merry with the news of our enemy's ultimately quick demise.

I'll go search out Twain's "The War Prayer" as I wait for your reply.

27. The Abramoff trial raises issues.
Do either he or you think that the "Brotherhood's" code of Christian omerta will keep him from being "Wellstoned" or "Carnahaned"?

If I may, since I am new to this discussion can you explain what you mean by wellstone?

Or do you know something we don't? Or see some set of dominoes that will fall some way that we can't see them falling?

Probably the very things they in this brotherhood are afraid of most, is the fact of being exposed. I have heard that there are real books out there with full records inside, which expose them and their very short sighted plot.

Perhaps someone has obtained copies of this information, and that is what would determine the "fall" so to speak. By the way what in the traditional definition does "Carnahaned" mean?

Arlington is one of the most liberal bastions in Virginia.

The only real cultists I can think of were the ones who worked on the Bush-Cheney Reelection Campaign (which, for some unknown reason, they decided to base in Arlington).

7. Here's another reason for Fear and Loathing:
DeLay has been damaged. His machine, little more than a quasi-legal extortion and protection racket, has been exposed for all the world to see. With that exposure comes less power for DeLay to use to strong-arm people into giving to him.

He probably will go down. One of these guys will talk. In the mean time, it must suck to be Tom DeLay, because you ain't the man and the machine you once were and getting back to that is gonna be really hard.

The prudent person would be smart to see who is attempting to fill that void and take up the mantle. They will not have as much power. There is opportunity.

13. That's what I've been thinking
I'm sure there are Thugs who are tired of waiting in the wings for for their turn as king of the corruption machine. Plus there are some probably tired of being bullied by Delay.

Nobody's reign lasts forever. Be it king, president, royal faovrite or what-have-you. Everyone's got a day of reckoning and the worse they were while in power the harder the fall.

Apparently the indictments handed out by the D.A prosecutor, has convinced the corporate sponsors of DeLay's misdeeds to co-operate with the trial.

23. Yes, Abramoff says DeLay knew everything
It was reported in the April 18 edition of Newsweek.

"Those S.O.B.s," Abramoff said last week about DeLay and his staffers, according to his luncheon companion. "DeLay knew everything. He knew all the details."

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7446492/site/newsweek/

And now the investigation into Abramoff's shenanigan's is heating up. Yessiree, things should get mighty interesting!
