Rice Announces Presidential Run by Mistake
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=544&ncid=703&e=6&u=/ap/20050421/ap_on_go_pr_wh/diplomatic_language

Snip:

WASHINGTON - It was a long interview in Moscow, and maybe she was tired from her travels, but for just a moment Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice declared Wednesday that she would seek the U.S. presidency.

"One day you will run for president?" Rice was asked on Ekko Moskvy Radio.

"President, da, da," Rice readily replied.

"Nyet, nyet, nyet, nyet," Rice quickly added, taking herself out of the race as fast as she'd gotten into it.

16. I agree with you, Vpigrad. I can't even get excited about
Gen. Wesley Clark running in '08 without a Senate voting history to plague him. It all comes down to those damn non-verifiable voting machines that these repukes keep in service.

We won't get a decent President until we get rid of those damn machines - or make it mandatory that these voting machines print paper receipts for the people that use them!

7. I think she was falling into cult mode there...
She heard "president" and thought to herself, "where are my kneepads," then said "da, da" to convey some sort of positive emotion about *. When she figured out the actual question, backtrackola.

But that's just my take. ;-)

14. Frankly, I mistrust Ms. Rice
Edited on Wed Apr-20-05 09:17 PM by SpiralHawk
it's her general demeanor. Her angry eyes and sneering lips. Bush smirks, but Rice sneers and grimaces, like Dick Cheney, only more guardedly.

At any rate, I have been blessed to know and be friends with dozens of powerful, intelligent, vivacious sisters over the years, so I feel my impression of Ms. Rice does not come from a natural bias of some sort, but rather just from recognition of the ferociously dark cloud that hovers queasily over and within her. I mistrust her greatly. She failed the nation inexcuseably on 9/11, and then baldly lied about it. She appears to me to be someone sitting on a keg of repressed fears (among other demons). I want her away from the helm that steers the badly listing Ship of State, the S.S. ChimPee.

My unsolicited prescription for Ms. Rice: some deep breaths in the great out of doors. Maybe a 4-day, 4-night solo fast, sitting up on a medium-size mountain, with just a blanket for comfort about the reality of the natural world. Animal relatives and birds would come to visit, and the plants would show themselves if she would see. I would go to the Grandmothers, and ask them to pay Ms. Rice a visit while she sits alone on the hill. They might go.

You can send me my tobacco by carrier pigeon, Ms. Rice. I will offer it up for you in the shimmering desert.

Meegwich, SH

23. Nothing these people do is an accident
Everything is perfectly planned and orchestrated. In 2007 section 5 of the Voting Act of '65 is up for renewal. I can see Tom Delay ( yes, yes he will still be there) stand in the well of the Congress and rant "why do we need the Voting Act of '65 when we have a BLACK WOMAN running for the Presidency"

Get the picture?"

36. She could win
Edited on Thu Apr-21-05 02:08 AM by BadNews
For every redneck white bigot who only votes for for the white guy, there is a woman, or an African American who will vote for her only because of her gender or ethnicity. For that reason, I believe Hillary is the most likely bet to beat her. She would do much better than a white male for the Democrats in that situation.

Having said that, due to the racists, I doubt Rice will make it out of the Republican primary.

37. Pravda slaps Condi
Edited on Thu Apr-21-05 02:35 AM by DulceDecorum
Whether of not President Vladimir Putin changes the constitution of his country, using the legal norms available to him, is his business, the business of the Russian organs of state, the Russian people and nobody else, certainly it is nothing to do with Condoleezza Rice, who might anyway wish to remember that it was her country which lied about the threat posed by Iraq and launched a shocking act of butchery in which tens of thousands of innocent people were slaughtered. This is "very worrying", yes? Or is it no, no, no, no, no, no, no?

While Condoleezza Rice stated that her comments were made in friendship, it is easy to say that after having been insulting and an extremely rude guest. It is like being invited to someone's dinner party, insulting the chef, spitting on the floor, breaking wind loudly and then apologising.

Hardly the behaviour required of a lady.
http://english.pravda.ru/mailbox/22/101/399/15326_condy.html

They shouldn't give her ideas.
Her husband was once
vanquished by a pretzel
and her father-in-law almost caused several Iron Chefs to commit seppuku
after he barfed on the Japanese Prime Minister.
Them Russians got off lightly, and no, she ain't no lady.
