Border boycott shaping up: Group reacts to Minuteman project
For every action a reaction :D

SAN BERNARDINO - Leaders of the National Alliance for Human Rights met here Saturday to plan the next steps in their fight against the Minuteman project, which members of the group called a mob of vigilante racists.

The Latino activist group will take the lead in planning what its members are calling a boycott of the Douglas, Ariz., border with Mexico on May 1. Minuteman project volunteers are in Douglas patrolling the border.

There are plans for people to block the border crossing, and residents on the Mexican side of the border in Agua Prieta, Sonora, will be urged not to shop in or visit Douglas.

<snip>

Aguirre estimated Mexican consumers spend about $500,000 per year in Douglas, significantly adding to the town's economy. The Minuteman project has received much media coverage recently for the group's efforts to stop unauthorized immigrants from entering the country.

Thank goodness the Minutemen are protecting the economy:sarcasm:

2. While the minutemen are watching immigrants try to come in
US jobs are busy leaving right past them, flying in the opposite direction, completely unnoticed by these people.

I'd like to see them try to stop THAT trans-border traffic.

4. What you pointed out is far more important.

The jobs are leaving the U.S.

Reminds me of a poem:

As you ramble on through life,
Whatever be your goal,
Keep your eye upon the doughnut,
And not upon the hole.

(The jobs leaving the U.S. are the doughnut; the Mexican immigrants are the hole.)

3. They might wanna try to talk Mexican citizens into not shopping in Tucson
to make the point. Don't know what the $$ figures are, but without the shoppers from Mexico, Tucson's economy would sink fast. Retailers there sell a lot to travelers. Get the retailers in the Baked Apple howling and the officials will find some way to dissuade the Minutemen from playing John Wayne games on the border.

5. If Mexican workers in the US went on strike...
The real work would stop. They'd shut down a pretty big portion of work here. Vineyards, drywalling, roofing, janitorial... The pathetic Minutiamen would have to leave with their tails between their legs.

6. 99% of these minutemen are shit kicking rednecks
Who I'd trade 10 mexicans for every one of those stupid mongoloids.

Better yet, draft those fuckers first - you know who they all voted for!
