Group Urges Return of Accused U.S. Priests
Advocates for victims of clergy sex abuse pressed a religious order in Rome on Friday to send one of its priests back to the United States to face child molestation charges.

Three leaders of the U.S.-based group Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests walked from their hotel to the Salvatorian headquarters, just yards from St. Peter's Square, to deliver a letter saying the order should expel the Rev. Joseph Henn, who is wanted in Arizona on child molestation charges.

"The victims are not asking for anything more than their day in court," said Barbara Blaine, the group's founder, who has spent the past week in Rome to highlight the problem of abuse ahead of the papal election. The conclave is set to begin Monday.

A man who identified himself as a Salvatorian priest met Blaine at the door of the order's office. When he protested that news cameras were filming their conversation, she offered to speak with him privately, but he laughed and said no. He promised to give the network's letter to the head of the religious order, then went back inside. "I'm not authorized to do anything," he said.

Karol Wojtyla was a priest for 60 years, he was the Pope for 27 years. He completely had control to do the "moral" thing and he chose the "evil" path. A saint? The world is so full of lost pathetic souls that we certainlyl need a savior to save these uneducated lost souls.

Do you think priests molesting children and adults began in 1980? All priests have know this has been going on. Especially the Pope.

1. The way I figure, this has been going on for centuries........
and if the molestation of kids was this common in the United States, which, until the neocons took power was one of the most progressive and open societies in the world, imagine how common the practice must have been in third world countries! :shudder:

2. Bounty hunters, perhaps?
Is Chuck Norris available, or is that infomercial gig with Christie Brinkley taking up all his time?

Drag these scofflaw sicko priests back here and try 'em!

3. This is why they're largely finished. I'm not too thrilled about that
either. Look what happened when the Soviet Union fell. No church can meet it's own standards and, today, the the "global village" of blog-mania, no church can survive as a growing entity when it has such huge baggage to carry. The handling of the molestation problem was just awful and people know it. It's all down hill from here for them.

5. I'm really disappointed in Maradiaga.
He had struck me as one of the better candidates for the Papacy. But his attempts to downplay this scandal clearly demonstrate that this is not the case. Shielding paedophiles is simply not compatible with being a force for good, either for an individual or an organisation.
