Pipe Leak Spews Gas, Oil at Alaska's Prudhoe Bay
I know, this is more than 12 hrs old but it is significant and typical of our right wing controlled media that this even came out yesterday!

Note in this Reuters article there is no reference to when this spill occurred. We first heard of a spill up there last week and noticed it was promptly buried and lacked any news coverage. Was this the same spill or a second one? Maybe it was the arctic frost? Maybe it was Cheney and his oil drilling pals??

ANCHORAGE (Reuters) - An estimated 1.4 million cubic feet of natural gas and an unknown quantity of crude oil spewed from a leak in a pipeline at the Prudhoe Bay oil field on Alaska's North Slope, state environmental regulators said on Tuesday.

The resulting mist of crude oil coated an area nearly a mile long and averaged about 300 feet wide, the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation said in a statement.

2. I did not know they were piping natural gas through the pipeline
They are trying to build a natural gas pipeline so they can get their gas to market, hasn't yet been started. As far as I know there is only the one pipeline and I am not sure but I don't believe natural gas and oil can be piped together. something is funny here...

4. Toots, glad you mentioned that. I thought that was weird too.
Just figured it was some new type of pipeline mix....

More here then meets the eye.

3. Or they want no coverage of this as ANWR is discussed --
and, as you suspect, the media has complied, or just lazily, incompetently ignored --
