Cooper: Tentative Deal Set With Strikers
TEXARKANA, Ark. <snip>

Thursday was the 26th day of the strike. Union leaders said assistance money can be made available to workers on an as-needed basis when the strike hits 30 days.

A major sticking point has been health care, but union officials have raised concerns about new hire policies and the use of contractors for some general maintenance at the plant. <snip>

Union officials did not immediately return a call for comment Thursday. On its Web site, the union said the proposal would be reviewed Saturday with a vote set for Sunday. <snip>
