Bush Says Attack Shows Iraq Insurgency Still Deadly
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nm/20050405/pl_nm/iraq_bush_dc&cid=615&ncid=1480

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A brazen attack on Iraq's Abu Ghraib prison that wounded 44 U.S. soldiers was evidence that the Iraqi insurgency remains deadly, President Bush said on Tuesday.

Al Qaeda's wing in Iraq, led by militant Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, claimed responsibility for last weekend's attack in which dozens of insurgents detonated two car bombs and fired rocket-propelled grenades at U.S. forces before the assault was repelled.

"I think it's a sign that they're still deadly, that these people will kill," Bush told reporters.

"They kill innocent life. Their strategy hasn't really changed. Their strategy has been one to kill as many innocent people as they possibly can in the hope that it shakes our confidence and shakes our will," he added.

And you're not killing innocent life either, Mr. Propagandist?

22. well, considering his previous experience with war...
He thought it was about alcohol, coke and pretending to help someone's election campaign. Oh yeah, and trashing apartments while not paying for them.

So for him, it's an eye opening thing.

6. Look at his whole quote
Q: Yes, sir. Al Qaeda has claimed responsibility for the attack on Abu Graib prison. Is this a sign that they're becoming more sophisticated in Iraq?

THE PRESIDENT: No, I think it's a sign that they're still deadly, that these people will kill. They kill innocent life.

More and more citizens understand that these terrorists, like al Qaeda and Zarqawi, don't have their interests at heart. They don't believe in democracy, these killers. They believe in a society in which people aren't going to be free to practice their religion, or free to speak in the public square.

And so I think the American people ought to take heart to know that we have now more allies in defeating these few, and those allies are the Iraqi citizens. And perhaps the most notable step that the Iraqi citizens took toward complete defiance of the point of view of Zarqawi, who is an al Qaeda type, was when they went to the polls.

"Terrorists like al-Qaeda and Zarqawi"? "Zarqawi who is an al-Qaeda type"? "They kill innocent life"?

What a moron.

8. They're still trying to milk that sham election for all it's worth.
Yeah, those guerillas are not getting more organized. A group of 75 of them just happened to stumble together at Abu Ghraib by sheer coincidence, organized into support and assault groups. Must be getting really desperate, those dead-enders.

A freeper-type I know was teloing me how happy those Iraqis were after the "elections." I said if they're so fkkking happy, take a trip to Baghdad, walk down the street with an American flag t-shirt, and see how happy they are. That shut him up.

11. But just yesterday you were quoted, Mr.Bush
as saying freedom is really emerging in Iraq! By the way, are you saying that it has taken 1500+ Gi deaths not to mention all the thousands of Iraqi civilians, to realize that "these people will kill"? Are you only now realizing that you stuck your figurative foot in the hornets nest and they are pissed off?

I liked that one better for it's pure non sequitur.

How about: "They kill innocent life" where the fuck did that one come from?
