Bush, pope bonded despite their differences
April 5, 2005, 12:46AM

The president liked to visit the pontiff, even though he was scolded by him
By JULIE MASON
Copyright 2005 Houston Chronicle Washington Bureau
WASHINGTON - Their relationship was bumpy at times. Pope John Paul II openly criticized President Bush about the war in Iraq, stem cell research and the Abu Ghraib prison scandal.

But the two powerful leaders also forged a bond.

On Monday, Bush lavished praise on the late Catholic leader, and this week he will be the first U.S. president to attend a papal funeral.

"He spoke to the poor; he spoke to morality. And of course, he was a man of peace," Bush said at the White House. "And he didn't like war, and I fully understood that and I appreciated the conversations I had with the Holy Father on the subject."

8. Evidence? Do we have evidence of a bond?
Did the Holy Father say he had bonded with *? It just doesn't sound like him.

"And he didn't like war." Notice how they are busy rewriting history? Making it seem as though the Holy Father opposed the invasion of Iraq because he didn't like war in general. What about Bosnia? He advocated FOR intervention in Bosnia.

They couldn't respond to the tsunami in a timely and an appropriate way, but now they have a grand treasure chest of rhetoric about the Pope.

They have this ability to trash everything. They have no decency, no diplomacy. They drown us in propaganda. They DO create dis-reality. Our MSM is pathetic.

Hey Mr President... WHY DIDN"T YOU LISTEN TO THE POPE?

His polls must be tanking. Whenever they do, we start seeing these happy puff pieces that attempt to convince us Bush is a normal human being - which he most assuredly is NOT.

The Pope would hardly bond with the devil.

26. Bush and the Pope
Of course they bonded, they were so similar, like to peas in a pod. The Pope maybe had a brewski and Georgie tried on the Pope's hat and did a little dance and picked his nose. I can see it now. Pals. How heartwarming.
