Mediator enters talks at Eastman Machine (Buffalo)
<snip> Officials of the company and United Auto Workers said they communicated through the mediator, and that negotiations are scheduled for next week.

The 58 members of United Auto Workers Local 936 struck Eastman March 12, nearly six months after their contract expired. <snip>

Tensions rose after two pickets were bumped by a delivery truck Thursday at the plant at 779 Washington St. The men refused treatment for minor injuries.

The union posed an oversized, rat-shaped balloon at the entrance earlier this week to protest the use of replacement workers. Eastman is using about a dozen replacements, UAW Buffalo District Director Kevin Donovan said. <snip>
