SEOUL (Reuters) - The United States, which has 34,000 troops in South Korea, may cut back on equipment due to budget dispute with Seoul, a U.S. military official said.
The move comes as Seoul and Washington are negotiating a special Measures Agreement that supports sharing the burden of non-personnel stationing costs of the United States Forces Korea (USFK).
Local media said Seoul is considering cutting its 2005 financial contribution by 60 billion won ($59 million) to some 680 billion won.
"We will be required to make tough but necessary decisions in the areas of force capabilities," the USFK Web Site quoted Lieutenant General Charles C. Campbell, USFK Chief of Staff, as saying.

Sounds like South Korea is getting tired of paying the US to occupy their country?
