FBI finds explosives in Nichols home
Tip led to search of bombing conspirator's house in Kansas

WASHINGTON (AP) -- FBI agents searching the former home of convicted Oklahoma City bombing conspirator Terry Nichols found explosive materials, including blasting caps, that appear to date before the deadly 1995 attack, agency officials said Friday.

FBI Agent Gary Johnson said the discovery was prompted by a recent tip and that preliminary information unearthed with the explosives at the Kansas home indicated the material had been there a long time.

"The information so far indicates the items have been there since prior to the Oklahoma City bombing," Johnson said in an interview from Oklahoma City.

The discovery could prove an embarrassment to the FBI and other federal authorities who had searched the Nichols' property in Herington, Kansas, extensively during the original investigation a decade ago.

24. This wacko was portrayed in "Bowling for Columbine"
and he was one scary and unstable dude. I'm not surprised one bit he got arrested. He was the one spouting all the conspiracy theories about the UN taking over America.

Remember, after Michael Moore interviewed him, Terry Nichol showed him a loaded gun and started to play with it, putting it on his own head mockingly, as if trying to commit suicide.

One serious lunatic this dude.

25. And to think they didn't find anything before. What is wrong with
with the FBI? A class of 2nd graders could have found any stash Nichols had. This is either fishy or frickin' stupid. As for Nichols, in Michigan there a whole host of these freaks. Michael Moore did not have to look far to find one. They all deny knowing Nichols today but they are like cockroaches in the back alleys of rural counties.

12. How much do you want to bet that they didn't search thoroughly because
of who he is? Had he been a black or an Arab they would have brought in the cranes and back-hoes to dig up the entire property.

It's like the sheriffis that give cursory searches of the militia in this country.

I know I have grown cynical. I wonder if it could be the increasingly outlandishness of stories being fed by our ever legitimate media.

15. 10 years later? Strike anyone else as odd?
I mean, it's not like the guy lived on a sprawling compound with hidden chambers and stuff. Didn't they search Nichols' residence back then? You'd think they would have practically torn it apart. And why did they go back and search again... is the home vacant?

Strange.

Glad you found the explosives 10 years after the bombing, now, did you just plant them to distract us or are you just that F@#$ing incompetent that you didn't search his house before convicting him?

I mean really, this is just completely shameful that our feds either missed it or didn't even bother to look when they were investigating a TERRORIST ORGANIZATION!

To all FBI, NSA and any other American agents - Put your finger REALLY REALLY far yup your nose, after the crunch you'll feel that soft spongy thing - that is your brain, it's supposed yo be used to think.

Now for a simple exercise for you Security people.

. . .

. . .

. . .

With 4 lines cover those dots

If you can do that, congratulations, you're thinking outside of the box, keep doing it and you might get a flipping clue.

can't figure it out, you shouldn't be in the FBI, you should be a meter-checker and tire marker.

19. Incredibly odd ...
Edited on Fri Apr-01-05 09:41 PM by RoyGBiv
Odd that this story about FBI incompetence during the Clinton administration comes to light at the same time problems with the intelligence community in this country are being blamed on Clinton.

Should I put on my :tinfoilhat:? Perhaps.

The residence was searched, presumably extensively, before. It's been a house used for rentals ever since, the last tenant being evicted relatively recently.

Just a bit too weird, if ya know what I mean.

...to show the F.B.I. made other mistakes too.

But, to be fair to the F.B.I. wouldn't it be at A.T.F.'s job to search the house? (ATF=Alcohol,Tobacco and Fire Arms)

As if there is nothing under the shrub regime that needs investigating....

A new investigation into the Oklahoma City bombing may happen soon.

California Republican Congressman Dana Rohrabacher may use his congressional subcommittee to investigate allegations that Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols did not act alone when they blew up the Murrah building in 1995.

Rohrabacher also questions whether federal agencies took part in a cover-up. He has discussed his plan with former Oklahoma Governor Frank Keating and Congressman Ernest Istook who both say the investigation was a bad idea.

The 10th anniversary of the bombing is next month.

26. It seems to me Nichols would have gotten rid of anything connected to OKC
If he really was connected to a wider conspiracy, wouldn't he have gotten rid of evidence by now? I suppose he might just be stupid, but that seems like a major blunder. It makes you wonder.
