Henry Kissinger Undergoes Heart Procedure
NEW YORK -- Former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger was reported "resting comfortably" at home Thursday after an angioplasty procedure, a hospital and a spokeswoman for his office said. Neither would provide further details.

"Dr. Henry Kissinger was admitted to New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center on Tuesday, March 29, and underwent an angioplasty procedure," hospital spokeswoman Myrna Manners said in a statement. "He was discharged earlier today and is resting comfortably at home."

The statement was confirmed by Jessie Incao, spokeswoman for Kissinger Associates, Inc., the foreign policy consulting firm that Kissinger founded after leaving government service in the mid-1970s.

Angioplasty is a procedure for relieving blockages that impede blood flow to the heart, usually by inserting a catheter and inflating a tiny balloon.

Kissinger, who turns 82 on May 29, served Presidents Nixon and Ford for eight years as foreign policy adviser and secretary of state.

the surgeon finally uncovered the tiny pericardial sac, the "pillow" that surrounds the heart. "Aha!" he exclaimed. The sac appeared to this reporter to be approximately pea-sized and purplish-black. Not apparently connected to anything inside the thoracic cavity, the sac easily slid off to reveal a hard, dense structure that somehow moved to its own beat.

16. WP on 9/11/01 - Kissinger sued by family of murdered Chilean general.
Edited on Thu Mar-31-05 08:54 PM by JohnOneillsMemory
28 years to the day after the 1973 US-backed coup against Salvador Allende in Chile, the son of murdered Chilean General Schneider went ahead with a law suit against Henry Kissinger for his part in the coup and murder.

That was a Washington Post headlined story on the morning of 9/11/01.

What an interesting day to turn over the international game board and seize the initiative with mass murder and propaganda, the usual tools of fascism.

And then go first to Henry Kissinger to front the Ommission Panel on the so-called 'intelligence failure' with no mention of NORAD's Operation Vigilant Warrior eliminating US national security that morning.

Go rent the video 'The Trials of Henry Kissinger' and see his lifetime of war crimes used for social climbing.

Family of Slain Chilean Sues Kissinger, Helms
Military Leader Was Killed in Kidnap Attempt Linked to Nixon Administration

By Bill Miller
Washington Post Staff Writer
Tuesday, September 11, 2001; Page A22
http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn/A7048-2001Sep10?language=printer

The family of Chilean military commander Rene Schneider, who was killed 31 years ago during a botched kidnapping, filed a federal lawsuit in Washington yesterday accusing Henry A. Kissinger, Richard M. Helms and other officials in the Nixon administration of orchestrating a series of covert activities that led to his assassination.

The lawsuit, which attorneys said is based heavily upon recently declassified CIA documents, seeks more than $3 million in damages from Kissinger, Helms and the U.S. government for "summary execution," assault and other civil rights violations. It alleges that Schneider was targeted because he stood in the way of a military coup designed to keep leftist Salvador Allende from taking power as Chile's president. At the time, Kissinger was Nixon's national security adviser, and Helms headed the CIA.

The suit revisits one of Chile's most notorious crimes and marks the first time that high-level U.S. officials have been sued in connection with the shooting. Schneider was the left-leaning head of the Chilean Armed Forces, and his murder was long considered to have been carried out by right-wing extremists within the military. The suit focuses on U.S. government ties to the assailants that were described in the declassified papers.
