Man: Others Helped in 1981 Pope Shooting

ROME -- Pope John Paul II's attacker has alleged that Vatican prelates helped him carry out the 1981 shooting in St. Peter's Square -- a claim that was quickly dismissed Thursday by a cardinal.

Mehmet Ali Agca shot John Paul in the abdomen on May 13, 1981, while the pope was riding in an open car. He has given conflicting reasons for the attack on the pope, and his motives remain unclear.

"Without the help of priests and cardinals, I would have not been able to carry out that action," Agca was quoted as saying in an interview Thursday with the Italian daily La Repubblica. "The devil is within the Vatican."

But in an apparently contradictory remark, Agca also said in the interview that "nobody in the world knew of my attempt."

GIVEN THAT a few months later, "God's Banker" Roberto Calvi was then murdered under London's Blackfriars Bridge after bankrupting the Vatican Bank....this JP2 allegation is not altogether surprising...

2. Think of the implications of getting an assassin
with a Middle Eastern name. Setting up a scenario for "War of Civilizations", maybe?

4. No mention of the 'Grey Wolves' group in this article?
Looks like they are still trying to pin the attempt on the KGB.

Here's some things about ali Agca that weren't very well publicized:
http://www.answers.com/topic/mehmet-ali-agca

As a youth, Ağca became a petty criminal and a member of street gangs in his home town. He later became a smuggler in the lucrative trade between Turkey and Bulgaria. He then went to Syria where he received two months of training in weaponry and terrorist tactics. He claims this was paid for by the Bulgarian government. After this training he went to work for the far-right Turkish Grey Wolves, who the Bulgarians felt were a usefully destabilizing force in Turkey. Ağca describes himself as a mercenary of no political orientation who was willing to do anything for enough money. In 1979, under orders from the Grey Wolves, he killed the left-wing newspaper editor Abdi İpekçi in Istanbul. He was caught due to an informant and was sentenced to life in prison. He soon escaped, with the help of the Grey Wolves.

Was it the KGB? Was it the CIA? I don't know. In any case, it almost certainly wasn't ali Agca acting alone -- wasn't his style.

5. The Gelli family controlled both the Stasi and the KGB
during the Reagan/Bush1 and Thatcher years.

The key to JP2 assasination "attempt" lies with the Banco Ambrosiano scandal and the murder of Roberto "God's Banker" Calvi.

Calvi was involved in a paedophile ring that was centred on a child sex brothel in Hampstead, North London: part of 'The Children of God' cult run by members of the P2 Lodge.

When UK cops busted Robert Maxwell (RIP) the whole chain of rent boy espionage that he ran collapsed. See review of Gordon Thomas/Martin Dillon book Robert Maxwell Isreal's Superspy:
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/allnews/page.cfm?objectid=12419168&method=full&siteid=50143

Calvi stole an investment portfolio consisting mainly of UK real estate and equities, worth approx £100million in 1980's values.

These had been awarded in compensation in a 1970 child sex rape case in the UK to a very high profile public figure, aged around 9 when she was gang raped and left for dead by a mix of P2 Lodge paedophiles and Children of God cult members.

The portfolio was then managed by John Bond, manager of the Midland Bank in Reading, Berkshire (now SIR John Bond, CEO of HSBC, parent company of the old Midland Bank).

Bond conspired with Calvi associates to steal the portfolio and launder it via accounts he controlled for the Henley-on-Thames based Polish Catholic order The Marian Fathers - long-time fraud/money-laundering chums of Prince Stanislaw Radziwill - ex-husband of Jackie Kennedy's goddawful sister Caroline Lee Bouvier Canfield Radziwill.

This portfolio of stolen assets was then laundered via Marian Father's accounts into the Vatican's Institute of Religious Works, run by Poppy's Stasi bagman Cardinal Marcinkus.

When the rightful owner of the asset portfolio sued the Vatican Bank and recovered her rightful property, it was found that the real estate assets had been heavily mortgaged by Marcinkus who instructed Calvi on high-yield but ultra-risky investments.

The whole thing went belly up.

Now 23 years on Licio Gelli is in the slammer awaiting resumption of the Calvi murder trial.

Not surprised at all the fake "diplomacy" of Shrub and JP2:

DNA at the original gang-rape trial that awarded the compensation to the 9year old survivor was linked directly to "George Bush Junior".

6. Italy revisits plot to kill Pope: BBC
Italy is to reopen an inquiry into the 1981 attempted murder of Pope John Paul II after Bulgaria pledged to grant it access to classified documents.

According to Italian media reports, they contain evidence that the attack was planned by the Soviet KGB.

The secret service of the former East Germany - the Stasi - and its Bulgarian counterpart reportedly took part, too.

Bulgarian secret agents allegedly recruited the Turkish hitman Ali Agca, who is currently in jail in Turkey.

BULGARIA: wasn't assasinated KGB agent Georgy Markov a Bulgarian? Any tin foil hats out for a story to link this to alleged Bulgarian bank that supposedly is at centre of the December 2004 IRA £26million heist?????
