3. Have you seen this one also?
A man was arrested after trying to steal a weapon from a gun shop so he could "take some action and rescue Terri Schiavo," authorities said.

Michael W. Mitchell, of Rockford, Ill., entered Randall's Firearms Inc. in Seminole just before 6 p.m. Thursday with a box cutter and tried to steal a gun, said Marianne Pasha, a spokeswoman for the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.

Mitchell, 50, told deputies he wanted to "take some action and rescue Terri Schiavo" after he visited the Pinellas Park hospice where she lives, Pasha said.

This is what happens when the President makes the demands of radicals gain legitimacy.

Note: It's the very same people who are driving this "movement" and threats against Michael Schiavo and the lawyers and Judges as the ones who have assasinated Abortion Providers and Clinics.....Hello?

he would be out there right now stalking his victims. Or he could already have one. Just carry it under his coat or in a deep pocket or a bag, and who would know?

I wonder how many armed wackos are out there right now ready to open fire when they judge the time is right for them to do their godly duty. They've surely been incited by hate shows in the media and who knows what other authority figures.

This is TERRORISM.

it's not like pencils, where graphite does the same job as lead. unless you're buying steel tipped bullets (which are armor piercing, and i believe illegal) bullets are made from lead, because of the ease of production and the dynamics of impact.

39. Yes there is such a thing.
Metzger (Nazi) is in jail for whipping up some of his skinhead followers to murder a black man. The Southern Poverty Law Center put him in jail.

I wish they would put Randall Terry in jail for something similar.

I think Pat Robertson should be considered culpable too, since he declared open season on judges.

Let us monitor the right wing audio culture. I would love to see some of their asses in jail.

63. Parent Television Council does
Over 90% of FCC complaints comes from that one group. We ought to make that a taxpayer issue as well. Anyway, they have people watching and listening to everything and filing coordinated complaints. We just don't have that level of organization. I'd hate to be as neurotic as they are, but some of the stuff these people say is horrible and we ought to be making complaints on it too. At the very least, we ought to learn from their organizing and do more than write emails and sign petitions.

and I know Franken must tape O'Reilly's radio show...you're right - we probably don't have the magnitude of organization we would need. But I bet there is enough taping and tivo going on to catch some prime nuggets. I'd rejoice to hear of a lawsuit that addresses this rampant, 24/7 hate speech.

5. It looks like a bounty on Michael Schiavo and the Judge.
On March 23, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office forwarded an email to the FBI in Tampa which purportedly offered a $250,000 bounty on "the head of Michael Schiavo." The email placed an additional $50,000 bounty for the elimination of a judge who recently denied a request to intervene in the Schiavo case.

Welcome to Bush's America! Armed nutcases taking the law into their own hands as the Homeland Security Dept. worries about what terra-color code to throw up about brown non-christians from outside our country....

Ofcourse there is a "bounty" on Michael Schiavo and the Judge's....As Michael Schindler said tonite, its "Judicial Homicide" and "Judicial Tyranny" against Terri Schiavo, so it demands Justice....and their offical "Family Spokesman" is Mr. Abortion Clinic Provider Destroyer Randall Terry....Remember, he said that there would be "hell to pay"...

Unbelievable....Terrorist in our midst, yet this is the only arrest? I'd be rounding up the whole block out there standing infront of the hospice...You could rid this country of some of the biggest threats right there in one full swoop....

It's not on CNN or Yahoo yet, big shock.

This is just the one they found too, not the ones that are plotting and planning right now.

Poor judge Greer, he got blindsided.

Randall Terry is saying all the bad stuff in the world comes from judges... I wouldn't want to be one.

I used to live in Fairview.

I posted a thread yesterday saying that Michael Schiavo may have to live like Salman Rushdie from here on out, a victim of religious persecution.

I don't. Not without a Witness Protection Program-like divestiture of his own identity. These people have been convinced by their government-encouraged pseudoreligious leaders and hate radio hosts that they are doing god's will. If they fall in the holy war, why, just like those Muslim suicide bombers, they will go to heaven as heroes blessed by their god forever.

We are reaping the whirlwind that the Bush cartel has sown.

With the sounds of freepers.

Dumb sombitch probably has a 1993 Dodge Ram pickup with a Dixie flag, a Jesus fish, and a Bu$h/Cheney 2000 on the bumper and back window. His Dodge probably also sports a "We Still Pray" sticker, a "Dodge" boy pissing on a Ford, and that same Dodge boy kneeling at the cross of Jesus. He probably lives in a dilapidated single-wide in the French Broad river's flood plain with a rusting roto-tiller standing in the shards of 2001's garden. He hasn't ever had a bank account and $250 left over at the end of the month would be a major windfall. Kind of makes you proud to be from the most religiously intensive area (upstate SC and the NC mountains) of the whole bound-for-hell USA!

point, somebody's going to get killed. We've had polarized politics in the past and people have gotten killed; it's almost amazing it hasn't happened yet considering the rage you'll find amongst the Freepers on a daily basis.

I fully expect one of these brave public servants to get it over this. And then the MSM will go nuts trying to figure out the "warning signs" and "how could this happen in America?"

I'm not aiming for morbid fascination here but rather looking the elephant-in-the-room in the eyes and stating the obvious.

33. Man arrested in N.C. on charges of threatening Michael Schiavo
A man arrested in Buncombe County Friday was charged with threatening the husband of Terri Schiavo, the brain-damaged Florida woman at the center of the right-to-die case gripping the country.

Richard Alan Meywes was arrested in Fairview by the FBI and the Buncombe County Sheriff's Office, the FBI said in a prepared statement.

Meywes is accused of sending an e-mail putting a $250,000 bounty "on the head of Michael Schiavo" and another $50,000 to eliminate a judge who denied a request to intervene in the Schiavo case, the FBI said. The FBI did not immediately identify the judge.

51. Could they WANT to declare MARTIAL LAW???
If people start shooting, the government can declare martial law, in which case normal rules are suspended and they have far more power, especially with the Patriot Act.

Think about it. Could this hate-incitement be a means to an end: empowerment via martial law? That would also TERRIFY the populace, which they have been shown to desire.

on edit: okay after reading the whole thread, I am freaked, there is some shit about to be stirred in FL. Hope that Turner guy is under heavy watch. I WISH it was a joke thread about too many Shiavo threads... this is perverse.

forgive my "challenged Christianity" at this point, but I would like to see a Papal annulment followed by two sharpshooters who do NOT kill but merely sever the spinal cord at the neck...

or The Ministry of Peace.

A regular Room 101 that place is.

62. I have a feeling that this whole mess is going to end badly.
I fear that Michael Schiavo's days are numbered. The nuts are out in full force and won't accept this as over until Mr. Schiavo is dead.

It's not going to end with Mrs. Schiavo's death. It's going to end with Michael's. Goddamn these religious nuts, and damn the Republicans for stirring them up.

67. I'm not a lawyer nor do I play one on TV but . .
. . .isn't solicitation for murder a felony? Perhaps even a Class III felony? Oh sorry, there I go with my details again!

In today's Chicago Tribune they had an article about the 20 year old Rockford man who wanted to get a gun and kill Michael. According to the paper, the home schooled kid was a loner who, when he was among friends, was always preaching and reading the Bible. Interestingly, the boy's father came out against his son's actions, saying 'Two wrongs don't make a right'. At least he's honest. (note: in this day and age, THOUSANDS of wrongs think of themselves as right. Sorry, couldn't help myself there).

72. And what about the kids whose parents are raising them
to disobey the law--the little ones getting handcuffed and taken to juvenile hall? It makes one wonder what they will be like in ten years or so...

68. Fairview Man Charged in Schiavo Bounty Plot
Edited on Sat Mar-26-05 08:44 AM by wishlist
From the Asheville N.C. Citizen- Times today:

"A man accused of placing a bounty on the head of Michael Schiavo and on a judge who recently denied a request to reinsert Terri Schiavo’s feeding tube was arrested Friday in Buncombe County.

Richard Alan Meywes of Fairview was charged in a federal complaint in the Middle District of Florida, according to a news release from the FBI in Tampa, Fla. He is charged with murder for hire and the transmission of interstate threatening communications."

Thanks to the right wing and media frenzy for creating this out of control situation.

70. This whole situation has..
become an absolute three-ring circus. I hope, too, that Michael Schiavo retains security/protection for a long time to come - he's gonna need it.

I read an article, this morning, about someone trying to get into this hospice to see their grandfather, who was minutes from passing on. Because of all of the security she had to clear, etc., she missed her grandfather by about one minute.
