Medi-Cal proposals prompt outrage

To the outrage of advocates for the elderly and disabled, the Schwarzenegger administration is trying to declare an emergency so the state can immediately start collecting more of the assets of Medi-Cal recipients after they die.

Federal law requires the state to recoup the cost of Medi-Cal benefits provided to the low-income elderly who die leaving assets, but courts have said California's collection policies are inconsistent.

Sandpiper, I think the same thing. Don't even think about taxing any of the assets of the wealthy, who will leave their wealth to their already rich children. But if you're poor, it's a different story.
Wonder if the gropenfurher is going to send a squad of brownshirts into their little apartments or trailers, to vacuum the seats of the couch for loose change?

How much can they get from selling your dead grannies dentures and walker, anyway? They don't even bother to hide their greed.

2. What do they think these people have?

Some estate sales are pretty cool. The things folks collect over their lives tell their story and give a bit of glimpse into history and culture and human nature.

Some are just incredibly sad. A handful of tupperware, mix-matched silverware, tv, a few clothes. That's the assets these idiots think are some sort of hidden treasures in the trailer park.
