Iraq and Jordan withdraw envoys
Iraq has recalled its ambassador to Jordan in a tit-for-tat move following Jordan's earlier decision to pull its envoy out of Baghdad.

Jordan withdrew its charge d'affaires Damai Haddad saying that anti-Jordanian protests outside its Baghdad embassy had made it unsafe for him to remain.

Shia protesters say that Jordan had a role in a suicide bombing last month.

Now Iraq has pulled its envoy out of Amman for consultations, saying relations were "in crisis mode".

8. Well, it could be argued the we don't have a government.
I mean, 2 fake elections later and losing civil liberties left and right at home. If we are crazy enough to perpetuate this lie of legitimacy then why shouldn't the Bush Crime Family benefit from anything they can get their greedy little hands on? No one will stop them, nobody is stopping Congress or the SCOTUS. We live in Bizaro Land where everything looks normal on the outside, but is warped and corroding on the inside.

3. Iraq, Jordan Recall Envoys as Dispute Worsens
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nm/20050320/wl_nm/iraq_jordan_embassy_dc&cid=574&ncid=1480

AMMAN/BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A dispute between Iraq (news - web sites) and Jordan over reports that a Jordanian man carried out the deadliest suicide bombing in Iraq since the fall of Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) worsened Sunday as both countries recalled their envoys.

Jordan said its top diplomat in Iraq had been called back to Amman for consultations over safety after thousands of angry Iraqis took to the streets to demand the embassy close.

Later, an Iraqi foreign ministry official in Baghdad said the Iraqi ambassador in Amman was being recalled.

"Relations have worsened and we need to consult with the ambassador," he said.

Iraq-Jordan relations in crisis over bombing, protests

The growing estrangement between the two countries whose relations were close under Saddam Hussein (news - web sites)'s ousted regime came as Arab heads of states prepared to meet in Algiers, threatening to overshadow the annual summit.

The first move was made by Jordan, whose Foreign Minister Hani Mulki announced the kingdom was recalling its top diplomat from Baghdad.

"We have recalled home for consultations charge d'affaires Dimai Haddad because the embassy (where he also lives) is unsafe for him, while other diplomats who live outside the embassy remain in Iraq," Mulki told AFP on the sidelines of a foreign ministers' meeting in Algiers ahead of Tuesday's summit.

"It does not mean that we are shutting down our operations in Iraq but that we suspended them until proper security is guaranteed for the embassy," he added.

5. "until proper security is guaranteed " - well, the SUPERPOWER can't do it
.
.
.

So I suspect this is a permanent "vacate".

Iraq won't be safe for a decade at least.

They have to solve their internal differences INTERNALLY

So that won't start until the US is outta there . . .

And they don't look to be leaving anytime soon

(sigh)

7. Not much point to an Iraqi ambassador anyway.
All the important stuff goes through the U.S. embassy.
