Global Warming Could Decimate Crops

Posted: Fri, 18 Mar 2005 03:33:42 GMT
Author: Matt Cameron

According to a new study, we are past the point of no return in regards to Global Warming. Nothing we do will stop the inevitable rising oceans and warming temperatures. The study which was posted in the journal Science by the National Center for Atmospheric Research, indicates that even if greenhouse gas levels remained as they are today, it still would not help the outcome. North America could face excessive heat waves and swarms of insects that could decimate crops.

"If you take your foot off the accelerator, the vehicle doesn't stop; it just keeps going for a while. That's essentially what's happening because of the massive thermal inertia of the ocean." stated Tom Wigley, one of the authors of the study explained.

6. Overclocking is..
Overclocking is when you change the timing setting on your computer's CPU. CPUs come with a preset speed. You've probably heard things like 800mhz(megahertz) Intel processor, or 2ghz(gigahertz)processor. The CPU manufacturer guarantees that the CPU will work at the speed setting it is sent to you at. Often though the CPU is capable of going faster and some computer geeks like to buy the cheaper(slower clock setting) CPU and set it to the faster(faster clock setting) CPU speed to save money, with the risk of overheating the CPU.
